Target once owned the defunct, over-priced, but for some reason beloved, rip-off artists known as Marshall Fields. Then quickly sold it when it realized the relic it was.

It's a shame Target is only going to be there for three days, the city could use a few more stores that offer value to the consumer.

Good point but I predict that the MAG MILE is so desperate for cash to keep things going , that soon target will get a big location and then one of the Dollar stores and maybe even an Aldi. Wish I had a solution except the hard one - pay cash and don't buy what you don't need.
Don't forget the currency exchange, liquor store, pawn shop and laundromat.

Over the past 20 years, State Street has lost 3 huge anchor department stores...Carson, Pirie, Scott and Goldblatt's and Wieboldt's. The reason is clear...all the blacks who herd on State Street scare away shoppers. You liberals are reaping what you sow.
Yes, becuase all liberals love blacks??? Why don't you go back into the trench you crawled out from and stay there - you ignorant troll.

George, I think it's almost time for Macy's annual White Sale. It's too bad that they're on State Street where all of the scary people who aren't lily white go because I bet you could use a new sheet and pillowcase to wear!

No, they don't. And even if they did, that doesn't justify them not paying a decent salary and having their employees qualify for State welfare programs.

This sounds exciting. Better this than a WalMart.
I concur. I'm addicted to Target. Nice to see they are locating a store downtown. Good for them.

Great minds think alike! I get the same feeling about Walmart. Walmart=Trailer Trash. Can't help but feel that way. Target rules.

Boss have you read this about Target coming to our mag mile. Know one has brought this to my attention I have nothing in place to make sure we get our fair share of whatever they sell.
With your permission I will put some of our people on sight to make sure we get every penny that is coming to us.

No you can't. What you can do is contacting State welfare offices and asking them how many of the people on welfare work for Wal-Mart. That's what you can do.

Well boss, I will get all over that.

Josh, have you worked for Walmart and Target in the same capacity? I have. I can also verify that the pay and benefits for Asst. Store managers, department leads, in-store customer service, cashiers, and floor workers ARE identical.

Do your homework before you get "holier than thou".
