As consumers hold back on buying big ticket items there available cash for buying toys is building up. People are saving more these days because they are being cautious during this bad recession. Although things look grim in the labor market, most aspects of the economy are showing some signs of recovery; the worst may be over and people may be ready to spend a little extra during the holidays. It really won't take much extra spending on toys to make this a great toy season.
Toy companies have a great selection of toys this year. Even if their bottom line gets hit by higher labor and commodity prices not to mention a stronger dollar against the Euro, we could possibly see healthy gross sales across the board, especially if there are no major hurtles as we have seen in the past years.
Not to sound too optimistic, but that is how I see it.
