Layed-off yesterday from Albertsons in SoCal. Feel like I bet the last money I had on a loosing horse. Currently Albertsons has a game going that will be giving out $25,000,000. in prizes and they are laying off 2,500 hundred employees.
The sad part of my story is layed off in last years cut backs I was brought back, so excited and hopeful I would be able to start paying my debts. Worked only a few months, reinstated my medical insurance and then the AXE.

I am in a worse position now then the 1st lay off financially. SUPERVALU WHO IS MAKING DECISIONS AT THE TOP.

Lost everything between hours being cut back, then unemployment, back at the job with hours limited. Personally I tried, on unemployment or working limited the driving to cut gas cost. Only purchases I made were 2 pairs of ugly black shoes for work, black socks.

ALBERTSONS does not care what position it leaves people and it truly has no interest in the employees.

So sorry to hear the news. I too was layed off February 24th after 29 year of service. Decision making at the top is not good - I agree! Supervalu needs new leadership.

Ever since the revolution, Southern California has been a hotbed of taxpayer funded radical activism. The latest news is that the revolutionary political ruling class is eliminating the ability of unionized grocers to compete by imposing Lowenthal grocery and goods bag harassment taxes on an already overtaxed citizenry. It is expected that further employee layoffs will ensue as revolutionary Councils impose more and more of their revolutionary ideological agenda.

29 years & layed off? wow they are really taking the people that have made the company there HOME. Vegas is laying off 8years + and if your full time grocery or produce at this point and were hired after 1995 you are now 20 hour clerk. SO sad to kick the ones in the keester that have given there lives to one company...Non foods results next week :( JUST SELL US !!!

Albertson's needs to go AWAY!! Their upper management abused their powers for years. They are arrogant while at the same time driving their ship into the ground. You try and tell them they are headed full speed at a continent not an iceberg and they tell you that you have a bad attitude!! Fine....I'll accept that....just as I will smile when every last one of those worthless bastards loses their jobs when bankruptcy happens.

Albertson's were in the "tank" when Supervalu purchased them. Then SV let Albertson's take control running the business and the company has been going down hill since. They outsourced accounting to India, then fixed assets. Layoffs have been happening for years, but not to the extent of today. Key people gone (ones that actually know how to run the business). Would like to see them suceed, but very doubtful. New leadership needed or sell off banners to someone who actually knows the retail grocery business. I have many friends still working for them and don't want to see them loose their jobs. Something must be happening with the price of their stock!!

they made the cut to the albertson's people after telling all of us that there would be no cuts at the store level. funny that they would say the same thing, that these cuts would turn things around, to the store people, that they told the 800 of us.

Sorry to hear, but not surprised. They are pulling straws and treating employees unfairly. These people deserve to be treated better and SV needs to be honest. I think with the $2.30 per share today, they are all done.
