Of course their profits have gone up, have you looked at their prices? Example - VanCamps pork and beans-Kroger price $1.19, Walmart price 50 cents. Their meat prices are through the roof. They do have some good sales, but their regular prices are sticking it to us.

I'm sad to see this news. I wanted their profits to take a dive after they screwed over their customers with their "improved" gas reward system. I'm hoping that their 2nd quarter takes a huge hit!

Hint to the staff of The Greatest Central Ohio Newspaper. Some lesser newspaper have covered Nebraska nuclear plant. Do editors of The Columbus Dispatch ever Google? If they have not gone home, try it. Try Nebraska nuclear plant. It may be a little more important than Kroger's story.

If The Greatest Central Ohio Newspaper does not want to cover the Nebraska Nuclear Plant story, perhaps it is a great story on US Healthcare. If The Columbus Dispatch does not Google, check the CNN website.

It also may be a tad more important.

If it's not a murder, a road closure or an Ohio State sports story, the Dispatch doesn't cover it. That might require investigative reporting.

I like Kroger. Their prices are decent, they have good sales, the people there are friendly and not frightening (unlike Walmart) and the customer service is excellent. The higher prices I have to pay for some items vs. Walmart or other, are well worth the pleasant shopping experience. I like Wal-mart prices, but every time I shop there, I count the minutes until I can get the heck out of there! Thank you Kroger!

Give me Giant Eagle over Kroger any day. Kroger's prices are no longer competitive and their fuel program is a total joke. Their produce is horrible and they treat urban stores as 2nd class.

I'm glad to see this. Maybe they will wake up one day.

Kroger is union. Much of the time, union stores cost more.

There are other options besides Kroger and Walmart. Perhaps you like Kroger simply becuase you need to expand your horizons a bit...

Perhaps you do. If the poster is from Dublin, there is every place you could ever want to choose in the Sawmill area.

They treat any of their stores as second class in areas where they have no competition. You should walk into a Kroger in several southeastern Ohio towns.

The manager Bob Peterson and assistant manager Lori Dillion at store 62 in So Cal need to move on. Lori is rude and has no sense of propriety. She brings her problems from home and needs to move to a smaller work place before she has a heart attack. You can never work hard enough for this woman. Bob is a burlly a yeller and plays favoritism.
Everybody else works hard and work well together.
Shop carefully and you can get some deals though.
