I am interested in trying this. Even when I am organized enough to clip paper coupons, I often forget them when I go shopping. This could be a fantastic way to save a bit of money in a convenient way!

I've loaded e-coupons on my cards before. my problem is I forget what I have on there and forget to use them. I like paper coupons, cause I can look at and see what I need to buy.

I actually used the system for the first time yesterday, and it works. It saved me just a couple of bucks, but hey, these days every little bit helps.

I don't look to buy items that I have coupons for, I look for coupons for items I already know I'm going to need. I probably don't save as much money as I could this way, but I don't want coupons to dictate what I buy or don't buy.

just the coupons for what you regularly use is what you have to do or you end up in coupon overload.
wonder if this is an adjunct or replacement for the coupons they use to mail out?
the one i like this week is ge's kellogg cereals - buy 4, get $0.15 off gas. go to the manufacturer's site, sign up and get a coupon for $1.25 off 3.
not thrilled with mealbox coupons. one coupon prints per page. phooey.

I have used coupons loaded to my Kroger card before and it did not double the manufacturer coupons like it does when you actually hand the cashier a coupon. This was a while ago, but something to watch for.

I miss the days when one could get the "in store" discount without having to carry a "loyalty" card. Cutting coupons is a waste of time. Seriously, I'm going to pour over the Sunday paper inserts to MAYBE save what it costs to buy the paper itself? And the idea of hunting for coupons online makes me nauseous. Kroger might want to consider the customer segment that feels alienated by these programs.

So what Kroger is saying is that they're 3 years behind Giant Eagle?

I like GE's fuel perks system better than Kroger's anyway.

I have forgotten that I had a coupon loaded on my card and used a paper coupon for the same item and gotten credit for both. Their system doesn't flag that. I have also had coupons on my card that were never credited when I bought the item, so I guess it averaged out. The coupons on your card are not doubled the way the paper coupons are.

Very cool. Needs some better coupons (just over 100 currently available) but I like the idea of just loading them on my card before leaving the house...

Yes...Finally someone who gets it. Loyalty cards give you the price everyone should pay and Kroger gets to track all your purchases. They should be outlawed.

I refuse to load my brand-name coupons to my Kroger card because it doesn't double them, plus I wouldn't remember what coupons are loaded. I prefer printed ones, from the papers, flyers, whatever. I like coupons.com I get through the MyPoints (online) program because they print 3 to a page. SmartSource sux because they print huge ads and generally one coupon per page. I don't need the ad: I already halfway want the product or I wouldn't use precious printer toner printing the coupon. I am also weary of coupons for multiples of a product: I live alone on SS and don't freaking need 2 of this or 3 of that. I wish companies would do more market on what customers want or provide multiple options.

I wish all coupons were permanently banned and that they lower prices for everybody as a consequence.

Sorry; I meant "market reasearch."

My approach to using coupons is to watch for sales on the brand-name items for which I have coupons, THEN it may be a better deal for me.

I am sick of the Kroger promotions where you buy 10 of the sale items to get $5 off your bill. I don't drive; I rarely WANT more than one or two of the featured items, and if I did. I have to consider the difficulty carrying the stuff home in my grocery cart on the bus. Pfui.

I make my main shopping trips to stores that don't make you use a card so they can keep keep a record of all your purchases, even though it's a longer drive. Not that I buy anything I am ashamed of - it's just creepy. Kroger & Giant Eagle are for if I run out of milk or bread.

It is one thing to offer the coupons and another to actually have the Kroger stores take these off your purchases. This is exploiting the consumer to buy without the store honoring the coupon. The site for getting the coupons is down quite often too. Many Kroger stores and their affiliate stores have different policies on redemption of these coupons - why?? It's all about profit not the customer.
