I'm a diabetic and I can tell the difference between diet drinks and regular drinks. If I thought it wasnt diet I simply would not drink it. I would have ask for water instead.

If it tasted strange, then the guy shouldn't have drank it. Ask for a glass of water. This is right up there with the "Gee fresh coffee is hot?? Who knew?" law suit against McD's.
GET A LIFE, DUDE! |

I agree! I'm diabetic and I can taste the difference. I would not have drank it. I also carry my testing meter and meds with me wherever I go. I also carry something with me just in case my sugar bottoms out! A didbetic can tell when their sugar is out of whack, there are symptoms. You have to test to see if it is high or low then you know if you should take meds or eat something to bring it back up. Never eat or drink anything with sugar in it. Eat normal food and maybe a small glass of orange juice, then test again to be sure it is back to normal. This guy is trying to get some money, some people are like that. |

In answer to what kind of patient does not carry insulin or meds with him, my mom for one. She has been diabetic for years and is quick to have the candy with her in case her sugar drops but can't stand to have to "wag" her kit around (her words not mine). She has been fussed at so many times for that. It doesn't always do any good. |

I am not a diabetic but I know someone who is a severe diabetic and they know the difference by taste. I think this may be a situation of someone looking for a quick buck. It is really sad what people will do these days. That person should know the difference in something with or without sugar-I know on the first taste if it is a diet drink or not!!! Keeps your meds with you or at least candy or crackers to help the sugar level-common sense is all it takes!!

I agree that if it tasted different he should have stopped drinking. I can tell a HUGE difference between the two, but... you know Dollywood is still going to have to pay or they will offer to pay the creep something just to make him go away.
Suucks... |

AMEN!!!!!! |

Once again, our society is encouraging this kind of blatant misuse of the court system. This time using the excuse of being a diabetic. I understand how serious that is, but being one, you should also carry the responsibility of being one seriously. Don't ask for the rest of the world to keep you up by suing them.

"...drinking several glasses of full-sugar Coke..." Apparently, it never occurred to this moron to ask for a glass of water, instead. Time to take responsibility for your own dumb decisions--or did you intend to make yourself sick to sue Dollywood?

I have drank diet drinks for years and I can tell immediately when something I'm drinking is not. Regular sodas are so sweet that I can't drink them.
If I was served something that tasted as sweet as regular coke, I wouldn't care what the waitress said, I would know it wasn't diet. |

I agree with everybody else. This is completely ridiculous, and even if it wasn't,$610,000? Please.
