I think they will sell given the way gas prices have steadily gone up. The technology can only get better as they continue to R+D them.

Interesting story. Plug in electric cars work for a big part of the population since most drive less than 100 miles a day anyways.
For distances longer than 100 miles, you can easily rent a car for a few days or a few weeks.
Car sharing is also an idea worth expanding greatly. People in large metro areas don't really need to own cars. You can rent one for $7/hour with gas included...
Now it they offered an electric Zipcar, it would be even more interesting...
