As the old saying goes: If it smell bad, it will stay bad.
Let AIG go. Let it go to chapter 11. Really, with the way the American economy is strutured nowaday, 98% of the American public have nothing to do with AIG and won't miss it if it had gone under.

Back in the news today. Saying that taxpayer money doesn't go to pay a hundred MILLION dollars in bonuses to those who screwed up the company to begin with, is like getting a transfusion and saying the blood is not going to go to the left leg.

The taxpayer money already went to the investment banks that AIG owed. The banks knew the AIG bailout was for their benefit, but none would back off on their demand for taxpayer bailout loans. Now AIG gets all the blame, and Obama/Geithner get all the credit.
