Perhaps Congress, Obama, and all the Big Pharma hating drones should tke note and heed the warning of this quote:

"They face increasing government regulation, loss of patent protection, layoffs and a "churn" among the industries' leading players. Also, drug and biotech giants have had to make do with reduced capital for research and development, increased costs to make new drugs and technology and the outsourcing of jobs overseas, where manufacturing costs are far less than those in the United States."

Imagine that?

They were making tons of money selling sudafed that ended up being bought by meth labs by the truckload to make meth. The "government regulation" clamped down on that by making it behind the counter and requiring ID.

Johnson and Johnson has been turning record profit, clutching dollars hand over fist for the last decade, and despite this, they have elminated nearly 1600 jobs from our community since 2007. Do you really want to support this "family company?"

The plant, under ALZA corporate management in 2000 generated over $2 billion dollars in revenue.. JNJ isn't in the local game for the long term though. Their strategy is the acquisition of patents through takeover and then the dismemberment of what were once vital and productive local industries. They turn big bucks short term this way and leave economic devastation in the communities affected.

Mass layoffs today at ALZA (Johnson and Johnson)

Yet another stalwart place of employment for the people of Vacaville has been gutted due to corporate greed.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Scorpio

If something is bothering you, it's important that you say so now, loudly and clearly. It's no good bottling things up any longer because that will only lead to resentment and a slow-burning anger. However, it's important that you know when to shut up too, otherwise you might overstate your case or sound so demanding that you turn others against you.
