OK, Ben dOver ond the othe idiot, "The reason this generation has to go through 7 to 10 jobs" is very simple even for your little peanut brains. The majority of the younger people that are in a constant flux of jobs and company's do so because they chose to. They do not have any devotion to the company as it was in the past and they hold great resentment to to higher-ups in the company. They are being brought up with an entitlement attitude so they feel that since they have been on the job for 4 or 5 years it's time for that promotion to president, not withstanding the fact that they are as dumb as a stump.
Yes Bob. Every young adult fits your broad-brushed generalization.

Your wrong dude.

Many publically owned companies give millions of dollars to special interests, lobbyist and politicians to fund their campaigns. That is why you see all the lay offs across the world.

These companies are getting rid of the employees, so they will have enough funding for the special interests, lobbyist and politicians.

The companies have no other choice, because if they do not give the funding to these groups then their stock will suffer in the long run. Have you ever questioned who the key players are that do the trading of billions of dollars in the stock market? It is the special interest, lobbyist and politicians.

Stock prices go up when these companies give funding to special interest, lobbyist and polticians.

The stock market sucks right now because anyone making over $250,000 per year will have to pay taxes. So the Wall Street key players are not trading, because they do not want to pay taxes.

I worked for, and left Alza on my own doing and boy, I'm glad I did. Managers' and Supervisor's who knowingly produced drug products with the machinery not functioning properly which totally violated the M.F., Manufacturing Formula. I should have turned you S.O.B.'s in to the Fed's. I do feel sorry though for a lot of close friends who worked hard and are good people and tried to make a great product. A lot of big talk by the managers who B.S.'s us for so many years. I hope they are also on the lay-off list.

This country is going to be a socialist government organize place in the next 2 to 5 years.
The signs are there. Do not be surprised when you see most families living on the streets in the next year.
Then the government will step in and take over and start telling the people where to go it will be in camps.
Just wait and see
Interesting that you should say that. Starting with the work camps and youth corps under the Beastly oNe. All these empty buildings. With all the refried policies of the Change and Hope government I wouldn't be surprised at all. Can anyone say Hitler?

Reading through some of the moronic comments posted here and in general on other blog sites makes me less patriotic. Maybe people think its fun to come on here and portray themselves as idiots, I actually hope this is the case and people aren’t this dumb.

I work at Alza, have been a loyal employee of the company for most of my working career. Alza is all I know. I have been through so many rounds of layoffs now since 2007 I have lost count. Why I am still at the company? Maybe some luck is involved because some good people have been let go.

In my earlier years I was to be a staunch republican, right wing through and through. We went through the Clinton years and early part of this decade where the nation experienced unparalleled economic growth and stability and my opinions were stained by capitalism and its “values.” Why did we need any government involvement in anything? Everything was going great!

Well the economy comes crashing down and was caused it? The select few individuals who are lucky enough to be the top 5% of income earners in the nation caused it. Mortgage companies, executives all doing anything for the sake of short term profits so they could inflate their golden parachutes. The economy was wrecked because of it. What has the capitalist side of our economy gotten me? Right now nothing much more than having to worry every 6 months when we have layoffs whether or not I am going to be out of a job. Hmm let’s see socialism, higher taxes yes, but basically a guarantee of a job and nobody goes hungry? Never in a million years did I think I would be saying this but this doesn’t sound too bad to me right now. If the pillars, policy makers, and decision makers in our economy can’t be trusted to make decisions that are in the best interest of the economy instead of only looking out for themselves, what other options do we have?

You're partly right. If an employee can show they were let go due to race, religion, gender, etc. than they have a case.
From what I have heard about layoffs however, companies typically review characteristics of the laid off pool of employees with each employee to show they were not laid off due to anything covered under the civil rights act of ’64. Now the employee has to sign a document agreeing they were shown the information as a condition of their severance. If they don’t sign, they don’t get any money. It’s kind of like waving a carrot at a rabbit while they are tied to a tree.
