I worked for, and left Alza on my own doing and boy, I'm glad I did. Managers' and Supervisor's who knowingly produced drug products with the machinery not functioning properly which totally violated the M.F., Manufacturing Formula. I should have turned you S.O.B.'s in to the Fed's. I do feel sorry though for a lot of close friends who worked hard and are good people and tried to make a great product. A lot of big talk by the managers who B.S.'s us for so many years. I hope they are also on the lay-off list.

let's put our head between our legs and kiss our ass goodbye

to me, it would have been simple to solve the budget problem, anyone not working or retired gets kicked off the system and let them go homeless rather than the working class and if their little bastards [love children] are costing the taxpayers day care, well, put the mothers on a second job and relieve the working class from carrying their irresponsible butts.

Glatt 1 and the night shift supervisor who knowing had his NIGHT shift people falsify documents on Sudafed. But of course, the day shift sup and manager turned their heads and looked the other way. And then I was told to run the sudafed anyway without a planned departure. No telling what went on in the rest of the department. You want names? I can give them to you!!

We heard Johnson & Johnson subcontracted the management of operations in Alza. Since that started all the amenities like free drinks and coffee were removed. The management company brought their own people to be trained by long time Alza employees. Now they lay them off, what a way to treat people. The new management company is the one cutting jobs for whatever reason. Wonder if they also do the bidding for obtaining new businesses for Alza, and how good do they bid.

Seriously?
You should be thanking the religious conservatives who've had a stranglehold on our government for the last 24 years for this one, not Obama's nascent presidential policies.

Someone should remind Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi that they are religious conservatives.

Lol, and when did the democrats actually have the power to override a veto? Oh yeah, never.

The Republicans have controlled congress since 1994. Only now, with the simple majority AND a willing executive branch, can the Democrats enact real policy changes.

This economic situation though, is a direct result of greedy fiscal policy and an executive blind eye toward the sheissty dealings of Wall Street over the past decade.

It all started with Clinton's deregulation of state infrastructure and media outlets, and was accelerated by Bush's rapid privatization of all things government. This in no way has anything to do with Obama, as the original poster inferred. Actually, Obama's plan to nationalize and severely regulate essential infrastructures is the very thing our economy needs, especially when coupled with progressive income taxes, single-payer health care, subsidized education, and a renewed right to organize in workplaces (Bush decimated that one and the result? Millions unemployed and underpaid..)

I would actually like to see the laid-off and unemployed to band together to form new entities to take on their former employers. I would gladly purchase a product branded with "manufactured by formerly displaced US labor", even if it did cost 10% more than the competing product.

I think a lot of people have a wrongful termination class action law suit.

First of all the pharmaceuticals industry is the fastest growing industry worldwide. These industries make billions of dollars quarterly.

Alza's top managers new pill producing plan bottomed out and their hopes of making an extra 10 billion dollars did not go as planned.

So in turn they fire hundreds of regular working class families , because top management are a bunch of disappointed whing greedy capitialistic beasts.

I think the working class should bring class actions wrongful termination suits against employers who fire workers knowing that that company is not going out of business. It the pharmaceutical is financially sound then they should not be allowed to fire the work force.

Employment laws have to change. Many companies are firing the workforce and these very companies are doing just fine, but there firing the employees anyways.

This country is going to be a socialist government organize place in the next 2 to 5 years.

The signs are there. Do not be surprised when you see most families living on the streets in the next year.

Then the government will step in and take over and start telling the people where to go it will be in camps.

Just wait and see

Cailifornia is an at-will state. There will be no lawsuits. None that will win anyways.

Ok there Ben dOver, I guess you are saying that a business should not reduce it's workforce in anticipation of a slow down in business and just continue to go completely broke. Your idea might hold water if the employees you are speaking of had a vested interest in the company as the upper management does. Most of the CEO's and upper management people have hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars invested in the business and it is their job to keep the business viable. You have to break some eggs to make an omlett.

Don't expect your detractors to possess the wits or discipline to read and understand something without color pictures.

Every sane American understands that the class war has been amped up to a new level and that the executive elitists are trying to steal our very livelihoods. No use arguing with those who refuse to see it - It's like trying to fight over simple mechanicals physics with a creationist.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Leo

If you look closely, you'll see a black cloud hovering over a loved one's head. They'll find the smallest excuse for losing their temper or throwing a tantrum, so tiptoe around them or try to jolly them out of their filthy mood. If the situation continues you may decide that it would be better to get the inevitable argument out of the way than to pussyfoot around them any longer.
