JCP is an unbearable place to work. Total CHAOS! No one cares about anything but keeping their jobs. After 6 years of employment and being a top performer I resigned. Enough! Lucky enough I found another job. Ron Johnson brought this company to a Catastrophe.. The customers we had are not coming back. I know, I had to listen to unhappy customers daily. So sad. JCPenney is part of American history and it will take a miracle to repair it. America's favorite store??.. How is that going to happen? I am relieved I am gone and I am sure I will be replaced by minimum wage employee.

I worked there for 4 years and resigned not long after the madness started. Loved my job, I really did but refuse to work for this asshole. He has pushed out not only his core customer but the 200-300 a month I spent regulary has stopped. 22,000 employees worth of losses

Rons reinvention of retail will go down as the biggest failure by a CEO ever.....

the board doesnt appear to care, it appears they are depending on the real estate value to make big bucks during liquidation:(

The forgotten part of all this? Penneys had record profits in 2010 hurt only by the cost of cotton in 2011.

Then ron came along and killed the company:(

Wow similar comments and feelings in just about all JCP. I too have been with the company for 6 yrs yet fear has kept me there putting up with the same bullsh$t. If anyone has any advice for me I'm willing to listen. Whenever I considered I've had enough I stay another week until I feel miserable. Please help me overcome my fears and see things differently. Thanks P.S. I know the handwriting is on the wall!!

With the remaing employees so unhappy and demoralized by their companies management, this cant be good for customer service or sales. My local penneys has no customer service left, what few employees remain spend all their time trying to check out customers on the cranky libbys. Inconvenienced customers may never return. plus theirs little inventory and once popular brands and sizes are no longer available

none of this can be good for sales

Ron wouldnt have to try to in back customers if he hadnt drove them away to begin with

Lets put it this way, NO ONE COULD DO WORSE THAN RON J.....

any change at this point would be a improvement! Given how Ron has made his one time customers mad NO RECOVERY can occur with him in charge.....

I sure hope it turns out to be true!!

My Mother just retired from JCP, at the end of January after 20/30+ yrs of service. She is so thankful cause in her own words "It's the Pits" the tablets are a waste of time and the lack of training has only made it worse, customers where walking out of the store in anger over the lenght it was taking to check out. I myself have been watching closely to the fall of JCP with great astonishment.

My wife Roxanne was a gold member until the early part of 2012 when after several fraustrating visits to various stores, either the merchandise or salse staff was rude. Then she tried the internet and with each order the fraustration mounted with defective merchandise and yeailded another trip to the store as returns. I encouraged Roxanne to give up on JCP and open a kohls charge account. Now my life has been happier and the pocket book a little thinner. It was a trade off I can live with (Who wants a cranky wife.

Serveral yrs ago when JCP mwas flurishing My mother was getting encentives to open charge apps and she had so much built up with these brass $5 dollar coins it was a free Christmas for us kids. The old timers should remeber that, I just remember that lugging thoughs things around was heavy-That was my job.

All I can say to this dictator called Ron J, You have ruined a once great store and it's only a matter of time when JCP will be a by-word of a failed company like so many before it.

Just as well Caribu Coffee has decided not to open their cafes in JCPenney. It would only mean even more mess for the poor associates to clean up, especially the closers, as if they do not have enough to do at the end of the day.

I am sooo glad I left the sinking ship.

Yeah Laura, we got trashed too this weekend...going into inventory yet! The coupon brought out the dregs of the earth who trashed Joe Fresh, threw clothes EVERYWHERE, destroyed fixtures etc! There was not enough help to handle the sales volume, theft was RAMPANT as evidenced from the # of torn tickets everywhere. Inventory was a nightmare...they used a cheaper company instead of the one that had been doing us for years. This crew was too small, slow, rude & incompetent! I hope RJ likes his inventory #s...shrinkage will be phenomenal-- from theft & especially in catalog areas b/c untrained associates STILL don't know how to properly process returns. The young managers we have left don't have the nerve to discipline the useless teenage twits that cashier. They (BOTH mgrs & assocs)are NEVER where they are supposed to be--they'd rather text, shop on the job, go to the food court OR take breaks together. This leaves HUGE gaps in coverage only compounding the aforementioned problems. I now dread going into a job I used to love. So sad to see a formerly great work environment go to hell!
