Ron needs to admit his grand plan was a bust. Too much at once and too fast. He seems to be trying everything to get store traffic up. All he needs to do is listen to the CUSTOMERS! Read their blogs Ronny! The answers are there. They are telling you what they want.

So after months of trying to make sure everyone called it "best price" they decide to go back to "clearance". What's next? Realizing the mess it has become and going back to it's old way.

LOL.. Yea a pricing strategy that is simple and straight forward without coupons and an extra 7% percent off for coming in before 1 PM on Saturday is a "mess"?

How can people not understand that I can pay $20 for a shirt flat out no sales at JCP or I can go to a store with the SAME shirt priced $39.99 with a 50% for a $20 price. It's the same shirt only JCP didn't INFLATE the price to mark it down..

I just dont understand why people would want to deal with the "sale game"

EXPLAIN?????

Previously a coupon would reduce the price of the shirt to $10.00, but you forgot that, hmmmm? Also, with a coupon you make your own sale by using the coupon for what YOU want, not for what the store wants to put on sale. Other stores frequently offer a further coupon reduction of up to 30% on items already reduced by 50-55-60% and more.

I loved the clearances and bought a LOT of things from the clearance areas in the past. When they changed the store and put the new pricing scheme into play, I stopped shopping at jcp. Have not set foot in the store since the new advertising went into place. The everyday prices weren't that great!! Why would I pay $20.00 for a shirt, when I have paid much less in the old clearance sections in the past?(Did I mention I bought MORE items, more frequently, but at lower prices, in the past?) Now that they are changing to a business model that fits me, I'll go back to see what's up.

They aren't changing their business model, what made you think that? The only thing they are changing is they are now clalling 'clearance' clearance again instead of calling it 'best price'.

Calling it "clearance" seems to have made an impact on the customer, even though it's the same clothes at the same prices.
