Unions make jobs go over seas. Which is better low pay , or no pay? Well obviously the enlightened know better and low pay will be better then no pay at all.

Ever read a UAW contract (both National and Local)? I have.....so now it is your time. Read the contract and then get back to me.
Toyota is doing just fine without a UAW contract. In fact, Toyota and Honda are now the best paying OEM's in the U.S.
UAW Paper Tiger contract is a waste of ink

Unions once stood for a living wage, a modest comfortable home, and good benefits. Over time they became the poster child for excess. UAW workers piloting $250K Carver boats,$100K hunting cabins, 3 or 4 Harley motorcycles in the garage, 3000 square foot homes, etc etc.
I saw this all unravel in my hometown of WNY and it was sad. The biscuit wheels fell off the gravy train.
Hey truckin, did you move? Weren't you in hendersonville or something like that? Good to see your still trying to talk sense into these people.
The american axle forum was fun, and now we were proven correct.
Where was your wny hometown? I am from cheektowaga.

I'm back in Hendersonville, I travel with my consulting business and I have a couple of properties that I keep. I'm originally from the City of Tonawanda and still get up to WNY a few times per year to visit family and friends. I see the Galleria Mall is growing ever bigger with all the Canadians spending money!

You're not near the Cheektowaga/Buffalo border are ya? I heard that area is seeing an influx of crime and blight, so sorry since so many blue-collar working families used to have great neighborhoods all throughout the suburbs.

<quoted text>If you knew anything about the Unions, you would know that the people strike not the Unions. The people vote to strike. But there is no point in explaining it. I read that most companies are hesitant on building factories in Alabama and Mississippi, mostly due to uneducated people, more or less stupid people. But when they find out they can pay auto workers $10.50 or $14.50 a hour, they build the factories as fast as they can. You all deserve what you get..
Ya know what? I dont even care. If youre so smart why do you gotta call people dumb and stuff. As a matter of fact my husband makes 20.00 an hour. The only people who want unions are the lazy people who dont want to work but want to get more money. JCI is the highest paid supplier for Mercedes because they DONT have a union. And no I dont want you to explain it and hurt yourself thinking. We need sarcastic assholes like you in the world to make it a duller place.
Everyones entitled to their own opinion. Just dont try to force it on me.

<quoted text>Wow $20.00 a hour, you all are rich!!. Just by reading your post, it just tells me you are trailer park trash and stupid at that. You and your husband enjoy your immigrant wages.. Have a good holiday..
He said it! Somebody had to say it! It had to be said!

I concur with this post. If you are making $20/hr now you'll soon be making $12/hr as the auto industry undergoes wage calibration to the global economy.

I currently work at JCI Cottondale in AL and I have to tell you that the UNION activity has been nothing but a huge distraction. Our TEAM should be focused on the next generation M-Class (166) because without the work it won't really matter. The vote was taken and by a 2 to 1 margin we voted NO to the UAW. It amazes me that they can't see that we do not want and or need a union in Cottondale. They will now drag members of our management team and manufacturing team in to court to talk to their claims of unfair labor practices. When I look at what we have it amazes me that we still want more, $19.75 per hr, air conditioned building, uniforms bought, hot breakfast / lunch, clean plant, steady customer. All I can say is take a long look at the Motor City and what the UAW has done to help all of the people in MI that have lost their jobs. NOTHING
