Regis Rehel - Canada's biggest leadership failure of 2009, stands up in front of all of us at the Richmond Hill plant and tells us that no plants in Canada will be closing. One month later he announces the closure of the plant...

When we went bankrupt we built offices with hardwood floors out of our meeting room.Later we built a meeting room.We had someone come and clean the bushes out at the back of the parking lot so we can see the highway.(they used my wage cut for that one)We got rid of anything that didnt look clean. We have had 5s 6sigma kaizan and are on GM 4.0.Mallet is enjoying our wage cuts and people person KING regis can kiss my A##.We are now seemingly focused on trying to make money. That is where the focus should be.Lets hope whoever is left now can make money, treat employees like people and go on.

<quoted text>Funny you should say that, a while back there was actual documentation I noticed on our fax machine, pertaining to just that the different age groups and that is pretty much what was said about the 40-59 age group. the baby boomers so on and so forth, so I imagine that it was some sort of study that must have been done on that particular subject.
Oh, I'm sure they covered their asses against any alleged "wrong doing".

Each plant had to submit a list of all employees, their job titles, and their salaries. Then, someone in upper management, I think it was mostly the new king, Dean Wimer, who picked the people to let go. He did this, in my opinion, even though he had no knowledge of what any of these people did, or how long they had been there, or what they contributed. He simply went by how much money it would save. There were no offers to take a cut in pay, or a step down in job title. At least in the Union shops there are some sort of rules.

Why would you assume that Regis was a failure ?? he was hired to do the job exactly as he did ...come in ,clean the plants both of material and human waste so that the plants could be purchased by someone ,who turned out to be QUAD..I hardly call that a failure ,the fact some lost jobs is unimportant ,as Regis did what corporate hatchet men do!!! THAT'S WHY HE GOT A BONUS

Hey, I hope you are talking about the bindery union? warehouse workers? QDS, WCDIST, Never understood that one!! HOWARDISM!
logistics here has plummeted! No volume! The idiot paperhandlers let logistics guru Wypach, let the bindery workers that make $3.00 hr. less pick their orders!
The idiot paperhandlers constantly have senior men off on voluntary lay off, showing the company that work can get done! What A holes!
Wipe A' has cut the jobs platform about 50% in the past 10 years!
This guy gets the bonus at years end!!!!!!!! Dumber than Dirt but, saves money!! What a Corporate Guy!!!!
Yes, They have people read this forum regularily and report on these forums! But come on, who is the idiot here???
Buffalo has 9 Supervisors for 600 people! 2nd and 3rd shift are so scared of the temps, that they fear for their life if they try and control any of them!
I beleive this place needs more Supervision and a Real Security force!!
I hope the Quadracci family has a REAL clue!

we have this guy parking in the team member of the month parking spot; this guy went through the whole hiring process (information session, application & face to face interview) then got a letter from HR saying he is not qualified to work here.

he then went through the temp agency and got hired full time... He definitely did not deserve that letter but he did earn that parking spot.

Frank spent close to a $1,000 on building a bridge across a ditch so that HR and Customer Service could walk across a ditch to McDonalds and Long Johns.

We had a plant GM that used to travel between St-Romuald plant (now closed) and St-Jean plant on a regulary basis (2-3 times per week). Those 2 plants are about 275km apart. At around $0.50/km, he cashed in about $275 to $400 per week. But he cut on pens usage (some employees are bringing in their own pens) so I think that balance things out.
