What ever happened to Bill Tallent after the Corinth closing? I'm sure he was rewarded with another plant to (mis)manage, but would like to know for sure. Did he take along his number one, Leonard (unbelievable!!) Jefferson to "help" him run things?
I sure hope Bill got another job somewhere. He needs the money for keeping up his two Mercedes SUV's, his BMW, and his Volvo, as well as maintaining his country club memberships at a couple of places.
I sure would like to meet up with him again someday.

Yes, Mr. Bill was really well respected by his peers. He always had a "kind" word to say and hardly ever made an ass out of himself in the production meetings. He "always" offered helpful suggestions as to how to solve some of the problems he helped create. He hardly ever cursed people and made them feel stupid or incompetent. He really did understand how things worked in a printing plant and made sure that everyone knew it. He was always on time for work and hardly ever came in late for the 9 am meeting. And he definitely hardly ever used company time to conduct his and his family's personal business, or made personal long distance calls from his office.
Yes, Mr. Bill was a real nice piece of work......

Well, they fired a plant manager who knew our plant inside and out, knew every employee by name, wasn't above any job in the shop (jogging, webbing up, changing blankets, weighing skids, running a press, etc...) and gave us in Winchester your Mr Tallent (The Nutty Professor), a man who never leaves his office, hasn't bothered to talk to most of the employees in production, let alone learn their names, and doesn't seem to know a damn thing about what we do in our shop. So far we have only seen one of the Mercedes SUVs, yet have heard over and over that WE'RE overpaid. He did not bring anyone with him.. YET. He's been in our plant for several months now. Quad brought in a couple of their guys to manage our production areas, that seems to be the only thing saving us from his mismanagement... Nah I wouldn't call it mismanagement but rather complete lack of management. Hopefully the rumors floating around about our quad managers not being impressed with him and trying to get rid of him are true and they are successful before this guy runs our plant into the ground like every other plant he has managed.

Tallent is a hatchet man nothing more. He is going to want you to run the sh!t out of your equipment with less people. I know that is the quad way anyway so that should fit right in with their directive. The fact that he hasn't been seen much means he is looking at what to cut and likes to keep himself at a distance. Now I am only speaking of my experience around him while he was in the Franklin plant, not sure how the people of Corinth viewed him. He did tell us that he 'wasn't there to be anyone's friend' so after that, we pretty much took a 'fu@k you' attitude towards him. I will say this also, he did get thing done while he was there. We had a couple of new stitchers installed and more work was moved into our bindery (he was the bindery manager). When he left it seemed our facility has been in a decline ever since and we have a BIGGER di@kweed in charge than he was.

He is a Dean Wimer lacky, Dean loves him, now you know how he made it to Winchester. The only reason you have Quad guys are there to learn retail, once they do, the old' QW/WC retail gang will go extinct.

All I can say is that you guys are screwed.
Like someone else said, the guy is a bindery manager. That's all he knows. Yes, he spouts his MBA bullshit, and tries to look like he knows what's going on, but it's all B.S.
In Corinth, he put lots of money into a bindery that ran maybe 2 or 3 days a week, but wouldn't put any money into the prepress department that was being held together with duct tape and super glue. His logic was that the guys in there weren't trying hard enough and he wasn't "throwing" his money away. He never could understand why you couldn't produce 40 cylinders a day with equipment that was designed to do 20 a day.
Same thing in the pressroom. He wanted to run presses at speeds above their capability. He would rather run at the Dean Wimer mandated speed for 10 minutes an hour than to run at 5K less for the whole hour. Any idiot can see that the slower speed produces more books. Well, any idiot besides Mr.Bill and Wimer.
Trust me, all Tallent wants to do is to get paid. He will do anything and say anything to keep himself in a job. The man is and always will be an idiot, and deserves NO respect from anyone.
He treats everyone like they are stupid. He does not have the mental ability to offer ANY solutions to any problem, and he berates his supervisors publicly and privately. Quad should get rid of him as soon as possible before he ruins another plant with his mismanagement style.

Yes, he always kissed Wimers ass whenever he was in Corinth. That's what Bill does, he sucks up to his superiors to keep a job for himself and screw everyone else.
Wimer is another useless idiot. He never once had anything useful to add to a conversation. I think he has a (little) Napoleon complex, and tries to throw a (little) weight around to make himself feel bigger than he really is.
It's a shame that Quad can't figure out who the real idiots were in the QW organization. Maybe they will by reading these posts.
Or maybe the "family" is also composed of idiots and they are all protecting each other.

Everyone I knew from Franklin said he was an asshole there too. They were happy to see him go to Corinth.
He outright lied to everyone in Corinth. He started out sitting in the employee break area and telling everyone how he was going to help them and make things better. Then he stopped going there and he started berating everyone and bringing in his buddies. That's when things started to change, for the worse. But his ego wouldn't let him admit he was wrong, so he just kept on screwing things up. He put all the wrong people in charge of departments. He had the CSR manager in charge of Prep. She didn't know her ass from a hole in the ground about prep. She wouldn't listen to the people that knew prep and totally Fu**ed it up. They finally got a guy that knwe how prep was supposed to work back into the area, and he tried to turn it around, but Leonard Jefferson and Tallent let him go. They left some asshole from Fernley to run things and it never did any good. That was only one example but there were many others just like that.
So, now they let the guy manage an offset plant when he barely knows anything about printing. What a joke........
