You see people of how f**ked up Management and supervision is at Merced World Color this supervisor was complaining about this forum effecting his job performance..I should of took in a copy of the stock exchange and told HR and management that the price of oil was effecting my job performance.. same shit..I didn't drag my problems to work..And so you know management and HR monitor these post..What the F**k have they done to improve any facilities?...nothing..only a union can help you..

LMAO I do the job of three workers. Let me frame this so maybe you can comprehend..you have for kids washing dishes..one washing one rinsing ..one drying and one putting them away..the ones drying and rinsing keep taking off playing video games..you tell dad the (supervisor) dad goes and gets the kids ..they start drying and putting away again..yet again they take off over and over you tell dad..dad gets pissed at you for telling on them because Dad wants to kick back and read the paper or watch the game....WTF dad I am doing what I should be doing why are you abusing me and making me do the chores of the others playing the video games....That is how it is with the management and supervision at Merced World Color...if you don't do the chores of the ones dad lets play video games...you are beaten and abused...can you comprehend that...facts are on the daily consumptions reports....another form of abuse is the supervisor asking the same individuals to do the same crap over and over ..if you ask why am I doing this job all the time I have more time at this place and I did it the last two weeks in a role...the supervisor says ..because I can count on you to get it done...well ..I would like to count on the supervisor to be fair and share the wealth .. that is a cop out response from a supervisor that just doesn't want to deal with the other employee..

Only reason you don't need a union you are either a family member of management or in supervision or management. LMAO as for my spelling .. this is not an infrastructure memo, a hot sheet nor new procedure being conveyed to subordinates. I guess I hit a nerve commenting on someone spelling at Merced World Color management or stupervision.

Another thing read what you wrote "someone telling you to do your job" .shouldn't you ask a employee to perform his or here duties..not tell..you should only have to ask..I guess if you have a totalitarian mentality as the Management and supervision of Merced World Color/Quad that would be a correct statement

If conditions are as bad as everyone keeps posting at the Merced plant.. I hope it changes drastically as a QuadGraphics plant... For yours and my benefit... Otherwise.. no offense, I hope that plant gets closed. Bad apple in the barrel analogy is relevant. Employees at Quad are looking forward to the purchase as an opportunity for growth... not picking up someone elses garbage. So, I really hope that those posting negative comments are just former disgruntled employees.

How the WC/QW employee thinks is like apples and oranges to Quad's employees. While it is good Quad employees look to this consolidation as growth, we here at WC/QW are concerned with the survival of our careers. I wish the transition to be extraordinary, but I wonder if I will "make the cut". I've worried for over two years now.

Formal disgruntle employees or informative employees doesn't matter. Every word I said I can back with evidence. I have seen many things ..such as schedules changed just to get a employee in trouble that was scheduled off for two days. Written up because supervision failed to schedule enough people for let one of their pets of and changed the schedule during the time the employee was off..a supervision terminate a person for calling in a minute late going to the emergency room for treatment as he is chatting with another subordinate in the parking lot leaving early before the subordinates shift is over. Employee had to start taking pictures of the schedules to get them to stop..HR didn't do anything to the supervisors. Employee bumped up in pay as others are held back..I have pictures of stock that was sabotaged so other drivers couldn't move it.. Pictures of lights burnt out and then fixed just after a accident and a bogus work order written up for three days prior to the accident. The night shift is the worst ..some employee are suppose to be splitting cards yet take off and leave for a couple of hours to friends houses. Merced Quad/World Color is a skanless employer..like I said doesn't matter if you change the name as long as Peter ORouke Lesley Peeler Chuck Yoder and Scott Wit work there is will remain skanless. Quad or no Quad it needs a Union. Scheduling employees 7 days a week ...and only working them 3 of the 7 is enough cause to have a union represent the employees..How the f**k can you plan anything with your family..That f**king place is no way anything like family.. or even care about employees with family

I'm going to disagree with you on this point. I think WC/QW or QG, we all want fair treatment and work for a company/managers that look out for us and respect us. In this economy, many people at QG are concern for their jobs. Most of us have families to support and are "hoping for the best" with the aquisition. Staying positive and focusing on the future is what we are doing. We had cuts at Quad in the last year or so too. So it's not like we aren't feeling the pain. Some lost jobs, the rest lost hours.

No disagreement here. Fair treatment and dignity may be slowly dying away for some of us in this industry and other industries as well for that matter, but we all certainly deserve that both fair treatment and dignity. As a WC/QW employee I sit anxiously on my hands waiting for that day of positive change. I hope we all reap future benefits, both QG and WC employees together!

Quad can start with actual computer generated time clock so employee's have to clock in and out for lunches and breaks. Make the pets of supervision state why they are absent for long periods of time or why lunches and breaks aren't given with in the laws of the state and federal guide lines. That way maybe the supervisors will get tired of explaining why their pets are absent instead of the good workers complaining about the absenteeism.

If Quad is serious then we shall see a computer generated time clock. I system would eliminate employee abuse and absenteeism. Money would be saved no arguing with the clock for repeat offenders. If no system it will be the same abusive management with another name Quad Graphics

No. You are wrong if you feel people need to be asked to do a job they receive pay for.Many times the job won't get done. People should know their jobs and just do it . There is no "pretty please" will you do your job. Too many press operators have to kiss their crews asses to get the job done for which they are paid.

Hopefully those job cuts and lost hours were administered fairly.

Here at QW/WC, all non union employees had to take a mandatory 10% pay cut, while the union employees took only a 8% cut. Everyone lost one week ov vacation. These things were "fair", but that is where the "fairness" ended.

The upper management still received their bonuses, while everyone was getting pay cuts. Yes, they took a 15% pay cut, but made up for it in bonuses.

Mangement asked for people to take "voluntary" time off, and many took them up on it. On the last day of their "voluntary" time off, these people were called in and terminated. How's that for fair?

People were hired from other divisions that were closed or slow, then people that had been in the plant for 25 or 30 years were terminated, without even being offered a lateral move, or a step down, or, for that matter even a thanks for all your years of service.

The "buddy system" is used in several plants to determine who goes or stays, not a persons abilities. IF your boss from, say BURDA or RRD got a job at QW/WC, and he liked you, then you also got a job here. Then you get moved up quickly until someone has to go. You can guess who gets to stay...... yep, the drinkin' buddy!!

Most of the GM's and above shouldn't be allowed to manage a Circus, much less a plant. Most of them have never managed anything, they just have a MBA degree.

I sure hope Quad is more "fair" after they take over. The remaining employees sure could use a good dose of it.

I am not being pessimistic in no way. I honestly believe Quad taking over will have no effect on the way things operate in the old World Color facilities all the good ole boys and girls are already all dug in ready for the Quad take over. They will be all smiles with the knifes in there back pockets. Waiting for the chance to stab anyone in the back on the way back to there prior positions. Let me put it this way, if World Color was the KKK do you think changing it's name to the NAACP would make the people it hung feel better ..or the people that witnessed the hangings feel better..make the ones that witness the unfair treatment..don't focus on the race issue of my analogy, focus on the trust factor..same players different name...same results..same hangings of those outside the cliques..It is a supervisors job to separate them selves from the cliques. At World Color facilities the supervisors and management run them.

When quad takes over you will be in for a big surprise.They put the responsibility on the lead pressman who is the group leader of his or her press. They will eventually weed out the dead wood supervision. However, performance by the crews will be monitored.

Jinx I speak of experience when talking about the management, supervision and HR they are skanless. They do not care about state or federal guide lines, 1964 civil rights amendment/sub sections . This is the way Quad will come in they will look at credentials of key management players only. They will not replace them,, Management like Lesley Peeler of HR in the Merced World Color/Quad Graphic has top notch credentials such as, service on committee boards, college educated , attends church,,yet is a very passive aggressive person that will pat you on back with a knife in her hand. Her being a woman you would think that she would take any form of sexual harassment serious..She will side with the offender every time every in a case where an individual named Guy belt took pictures of a woman's back side the focal point being her a$$..she defend that individual by telling the plant manager the person receiving them asked for them and he was only doing them a favor..WTF ..now isn't that Defamation of character? on what basis did she make you claim...? Even the victim in the pictures was told the same thing..Fact is the person taking the pictures...was often placed in charge of night shift personnel in shipping. He should of been terminated just because he should of known better. What I am getting at is management will place anyone in charge that they like and defend anyone they like.. I personally don't go to work to be liked neither does management.. Management only wants general workers that can do song and dance routines for them..that in no way is productive..Merced World Color/Quad graphics will fail once again.. if management and HR isn't changed. Take note how can a individual be placed in charge of personnel and not have a clue what harassment and sexual harassment entails. They place these individual in charge to save money and many have lost jobs because the personnel placed in charge can't identify or solve the problems and so a sacrificial lamb is used as a psychological deterrent to anyone that questions their authority or lack of. You read all the post prior to mine you will read nothing but scandal. HR Lesley Peeler ..Peter ORouke..Chuck Yoder has personally told me to stop writing in these forums..Being a formal Marine I understand the chain of command .. which is failed at Merced World Color/Quad Graphic..and in no way will anyone take my freedom of speech...I would of die for theirs..The f**king nerve of them ..being in a printing industry trying to silence me.
