I was just pulling your chain, Wolverine, I know who you are. I started this new forum since Memphis Pressman got his knickers in a twist. Please say hello to Mary for me. Glad to know that you finally got to move closer to home.

I know its beautiful, I was there in September last year. I went down the covered drive of the Keewenaw Peninsula, saw the Father Baraga Memorial, and had a delicious pasty is Calumet. I was not disappointed.

Do you mean bishop baraga 50 ft tall brass/bronze statue in L'anse? i worked there taking care of the grounds one summer as a teen-ager. What a great view from there eh?

Did you ever help replace a Fairlane's generator in downtown Oakland, CA in the middle of the night?

Yeah, I'm still there, working in prep dept. Just got my 25 year award and couple of months ago. I always promised myself I'd see the U.P. someday, because of your description of it. I went all over. I saw the Pictured Rocks Natl. Lakeshore and then went through the Soo Locks, that was great. Finally left over the Mackinac Bridge. It was a 7000 mile driving trip (2weeks). Even went on a tour of L'Anse, and saw the school up on the hill and the football field down the hill and some kind of fieldhouse or something as I recall. It's a nice little town and the view from the Baraga Memorial is awesome, right at the foot of the bay.

By the way, the lady working in the gift shop at the memorial said she knew you. I got a lovely leather keychain from there.
