I am pleased to announce a business move to expand Quad/Graphics' specialty print finishing capabilities. We have signed a letter of intent to acquire Schreiber Specialties, a specialty print finishing company located down the street from our corporate headquarters in Sussex, Wisconsin.
This acquisition, which is expected to close in the next 30 days, will add talent and distinctive capabilities to support our specialty commercial, book and catalog offerings, and further demonstrates our commitment to offering our clients an unmatched range of products, services and solutions for their branding and marketing needs.
Schreiber Specialties was established in 1993 and is well-known throughout the printing industry as an innovator and creative solutions provider. We have partnered with Schreiber for many years, using their high-end specialty finishing services such as embossing, foil stamping, combo stamping (i.e., embossing with foil stamping), die cutting, and automated folding and gluing to enhance our service offering.
Schreiber Specialties employs approximately 40 employees and we look forward to welcoming them as our own in the very near future. The company's owner, John Becker, will also join Quad/Graphics, reporting directly to Craig Faust, President of Quad/GraphicsÂ’ Commercial & Specialty group. John is a seasoned print industry professional and will play a key role in enhancing our print finishing offerings.
For more information about Schreiber, visit www.schreiberspecialties.com . Once we finalize the acquisition, we look forward to having the Schreiber team as part of our team to further strengthen our company and the future of print!

No need for accounting anywhere. Why not just send it all to corporate headquarters and let them do it? Only makes sense if it is true. Numbers can get passed along through the internet. Cuts down on overhead at each plant. Makes each plant that much more profitable. What else can they eliminate to make each plant that much more profitable?? I would think that anything that can be transferred over the internet is up for grabs to some extent. Send it to corporate headquarters. Let them do it there.

Waiting for the axe to fall on me someday. Until then, I am paying off as much debt as possible. Plus, trying to save a buck or two in the meantime just to hold me over until I find something else. Goodluck to everyone.

I have worked for Diversified Printing, Maxwell Printing, Quebecor Printing, World Color Press, and now Quadgraphics for a total of twenty seven glorious years. Many good people have helped make it an enjoyable experience for the most part. As I look back and wonder whatever happened to the best plant manager that we ever had, I once again think a pitiful thought. How would you like to be the bean counter? If my memory serves me correctly, someone help me out here please. Did he join Quebecor from World Color after we bought World Color? My point is how many people have suffered at his hand? World Color sold, worked for Quebecor then it was sold, bounced to the west coast responsible for several offset press plants, comes back smelling like a rose to be a major player in the Quadgraphics management team. Can anyone see a common thread here? Good at making his superiors money while the hell with the poor people that give so much for their very existence. How many workers on the floor have died, and how many managers have also paid the ultimate price? Here the score is approximately production workers 12, management 0. Forgive me for digressing. The problem as I see it is, are all plant owners members of a secret group that pass the businesses around to each member making what is possible for a while, then passing ownership to another buddy? The common denominator is the bean counter who is a ruthless manager dedicated to making money for his superiors at any cost. When the Union was voted in years ago, it was blamed for us losing benefits, and a restructuring of the levels that employees could climb as they gained the necessary experience. The real reason we lost pay, sick days, etc., is that Wimer was the first cold blooded, ruthless manager that would sink to the level of taking them away from the employees with out having to worry about his conscience bothering him. The reason being, he doesn't have one. As sure as there is a God in Heaven, I sincerely believe that justice will one day be served. I love all of you very much, watch your backs and good luck to all.

Oldtimer, probably some young boy, just out of college that hasn't learned enough about the real world and thinks that the republicans like their big corporation buddies, i.e. companies, really have the workers welfare at heart. Yeah, sureeeeeeeeeeeeeee. At least with Obama, my son was able to have both labrium's reattached due to the fact that under Obamacare my son was able to be placed on my insurance for one more year. More than I ever got under the leadership of the republicans.

Aww, c'mon Oldtimer, You know in your heart that the evil Obama is the cause of ALL our past, current, and future problems. The poor ole' Repugnicants had nothing whatsoever to do with anything "bad" that happened, and if we would only elect one of them the next time around, they will show us how they have "our" interests in mind. We just need to allow the wealthy to pay less taxes, and give the poor corporations a break also, because, as we all have witnessed, they will "invest" that money and "create" more jobs.

Unfortunately, there are an awful lot of hard working Americans out there, that actually believe that the republicans have their best interests in mind. I never thought I would live to see the day that our country's intelligence quotient fell to these depths!!! So sad!!!

I agree with you. It seems that a large number of people have given up using their brains. It is sad that people can't seem to think for themselves any more. I guess it's true that if you repeat something long enough, it becomes fact and people will believe it.

I have always believed that a person's intelligence can be judged by what comes out of his mouth. For your information, the part of Obamacare that allowed us to put our son back on my insurance went into effect in Jan. of this year. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in information technology. I'll simplify it for you. He graduated with a degree in computers in 2009 and has been working at a job with no benefits, below minimum wage for the last two years. In case you haven't noticed, there just aren't any jobs out there.

Bush must have done it. Your pal Osama, Obama, may have given your kid his medical, but he has no job because we don't create them in a socialist atmosphere created by your pal president Hussein Obama.Wake up, your kid would have had a job with his own insurance if we had created god jobs in the beginning.so now you have an healthy kid who is dependent on you for health care with no job. Yep, Bush did it.What a joke.
