Most of us dislike others yakking loudly on cell phones in stores, banging away on laptops during meetings or engaging in other peevish behavior with portable Internet-linked gadgets.

qualilty time with family is being destroyed and interrupted by technology today, Please, unless you are a doctor on call, turn off your technology when having dinner with family and friends, or any other family function. When having an important talk with your family member, do not listen to that ring or call, but ignore it, otherwise your talk just became unimportant.

When having lunch or dinner with your parents, turn off your phone, and stop communicating to the rest of the world, and totally ingnoring your parents, you may not have very much time to make up the time loss.

Interesting but why such a negative approach? Why not see gadgets as innovative and fun. Innovative because gadgets often bring to the mass new technologies developed by huge industries' R&D which are at the forefront of advancing technologies. Fun because in all of us, there is still a little boy/girl. And the little boy/girl will often be amazed when they get a gadget.

Now it is also all about the use you make of gadgets. Use them with moderation and that will be for the best.

And do not forget ... When TV started to be marketed (around 1936), some people were calling those new devices "Gadgets"! TV are not indispensable but aren't we glad to have them?
