Wikipedia was found through a review board to be a very unreliable source of information.
As Wikipedia has recieved bad raps in newspapers and in the media for it's unprofessional practices, it has been regarded as nothing more than a large personal "message board" where the administrators are unqualified and non-notable people who revise, approve, and create the articles therein.
Wikipedia invites anyone to contribute valuable and notable information to the organization, but legitamate and useful articles too many to count get ripped down by ordinary people, making false allegations about the material.
Wikipedia is no different than someone's personal blog or message board, where the site is "The world according to Wikipedia", and whether an article is included is based on whether the particapants on Wikipedia personally "like" the information. Wikipedia resembles more of an online "World of warcraft" game, where any articles submitted gets attacked, instead of a non-bias impartial review of the articles submitted.
It has become a fun war game for users of Wikipedia with no athority to oversee the conduct. Articles accepted by the site are based on personal liking, whoever wins the battle over the article, even if false claims and personal relationships with other users on Wikipedia are involved, and in some cases, patrons who contripute money to Wikipedia are given special preference.
This creates a situation where the information on Wikipedia is very bias, and unreliable. For example, Wikipedia would say that Verginia is the 50th state, if enough friends got together to make the article on Virginia read that, or if they personally wanted their site to have an article say that. The edit wars that go on on Wikipedia are very unprofessional, and is far from an intellectual means of creating a complete encyclopedia, especially since a large percentage of signifficant encyclopedia information to make it be a complete source of information gets shot down and deleted by the organization, mostly due to false claims by irate users that the information is not useful.
Every article on Wikipedia is tainted because of this, and every article on Wikipedia should be taken with a grain of salt. To have confidence information is accurate, Encyclopedia Britanica, or other professional encyclopedia sources would be the better bet.
