Well a quarter of the bakeries have voted and all turned down the proposal. There was suppose to be some kind of conference call on monday as the vote wasn't going as company had expected but havent learned what if anything came of it.
Rayburn has still said a no vote means liquidation, looks as if he will be getting their wish.
'ill ibc,im hearing it will take a 51% vote to force us to except the pay cuts..rayburn deserves to be without a job.who would buy this mess in this ecomoney????vote no...

Crazy-
Rayburn could care less, he will just move on to his next turn around position, thats all he was here for.
I agree the mis-management of this company is what brought us to this state, yet again!.
Their own filings say even if we leave bankruptcy they might have to reenter it in 3 years.
Best we take a stance now instead of repeating this again later down the road. The real issues in this company are not addressed in their plan, they cannot cut their way to profitability.
AS far as I have heard Teamsters are turning it down as well. We will know Friday afternoon. Good luck to all

They have buyers for some of the labels but not all but then they didn't expect to be able to sale allof them.Rumor is someone will buy us as a whole, thats a pipe dream and we are pass that stage.
Cup Cake is worried about a job if they liquidate and rightly so but, if these cuts go through then a job like these will be easy to find.
Too many drivers already work 14 = hours a day and for little money really.
They want to make these routes even bigger and phase out more workers.
This company is in violation as per D.O.T and will eventually have to face that and be forced to work within those guide lines- wait they cant run the way they want then.

I work a flowers route in southern tennessee. I carry tasty kake as well. My route runs 11 to 13k. I would love to pick up the Merita name. It sucks that so many people will lose their jobs but who would stick around with a company that has been through bankruptcy twice? Not me. The rumor is that frito lay would pick up Hostess and that flowers would pick up Merita. At least in this area. Change is supposed to happen the beginning of 2013. But once again, it is just rumors.

Your right Crazy, the pay cut is only part, wait until the insurance kicks in, premium goes up coverage goes down.
If your a route driver after exiting they will implement the changes to delivery and the commissions will be lowered.
This proposal is all about getting wages under 30,000. Though the execs will get raises and bonuses and in a couple years back to where we are now.
Close it now and be done with it.

Hope both sides will wake up to reality and know
the bickering is over. Employees have to make a
living. The Company has to make money. So why
bicker? Sit down and negotiate the deal, and lets
get on the road, and put out a good poroduct, work
hard to sell it. Stick together, work together,
the time for knocking each over is over. We have
a living to make, the Company has stock holders to
pay, lets get on with the program. We are all
Americans we need each other. We have people with
over 20 years tied up in Company.......Think!
get over the I won deal.......who cares?

lets negotate and get on with the program. We need to get to
work. Work on new products that will sell, get new ideas
lets be number one again, stop this bickering. It hurts us
all.
