You should check with your rivals see who's hiring. If you don't need the benefits you can make more money by running peoples vacation. Not sure what the going rate is up there but here it is 125-150 a day. All the perks of your own route with none of the stress. I have a good friend of mine that i took with me from Hostess thats doing just that. He has no regrets from leaving that dead company.

I'm probably going to do just that, one of the "rivals" has my resume and would like to set up a meeting for an interview. Ah, light at the end of the tunnel? Perhaps.

Where do you have loaders at?you actually have someone load your product? justa monkey wrote: 1- can't go chapter 11 twice 2- nobody is interested in hostess. 3- the money they pay workers is crap. 4- too many cooks in kitchen create blindness 5- loaders suck(sending wayyyy to much over the orders or just screwing up orders. 6- it is you cry babies blaming everyone else, the workers don't run this company, CEO/management does. Management is top heavy yet they can't control simple mistakes. Training is in order. But it is too late hostess brands is going to shut down soon, very soon. They are indeed losing money.

When we get product shipped to us. The semi comes and the loader that loaded the semi doesn't take 5 mins to break down a pallet or at times 3 pallets so I get a bunch of guesses. Sales times(more then once) we ordered 180 trays of something and they send 180 of something else. That's a big whoops. Yet nothing is done to prevent this. How can anyone sell 180 trays on top of there normal load. Stupid.

We have an extra man that has been here over year. Can't rotate, can't read codes so they make him a supervisor. I don't have a CVS or a Walgreens but I have mom and pop stores that I drive 20 miles to for a dime. They don't seem to realize that the reason the competition has supervisors in the major accounts weekly. When you have crap stops and hundreds of miles to drive there isn't time to see management when they are available. For the most part they have the same people running the company that drug us in to the sewer to start.

heres my 2 cents worth. Hostess stopped the pension payments only as a stalling tactic. With 2.2 billion in sales, hostess is not going under. The union and mgmt will work out another agreement and will try and force it down the employees throats.
If this does not succeed then they will look into a prepackaged bk and void the contract allowing them to renegotiate lower wages and benefits. Either way mgmt gets its way and the employees get the shaft with more concessions.
Lastly Hostess will continue to consolidate and close bakeries until the economy and specifically the real estate market improves enough to sell the closed bakeries and local real estate. They will then use this to pay off ripplewood and other creditors and opening the door for a friendly takeover or merger. This however will take 2-4 more years.

How can they cut my pay further? I'm already just above minimum wage if you figure hours worked including time and a half after 40! And don't rehah the "you don't get overtime because you are commissioned" bullshit. All I do is plug holes in the store shelves and walk a fine wire guessing how much I'll need for the next week's delivery. I don't sell anything!

I left wonder/hostess 24 years ago after working for them 10 years/ 2 months. Worst job I ever had. Decided to get out after I looked at my social security statement which shows how. Much you made in previous years. I hadn't had an increase in pay of over 1000 dollars any year even though I was one of there best perfomers. They just never cared about the people. They should have went to four day work weeks long ago and eliminated middle of week day off so men / women could be with there families more. Which would have improved morale which was one of there biggest problems. But no tthat would have made sense. Something that company had none of

This is bad. Its one thing to file bankruptcy and everyone wondering if chains will be on the door tomorrow when you show up to work. But its not ok to send a check to your employee for Travel expenses just so it can be returned as NSF and your employee is out of the $ spent on expenses plus $12 the bank charges for NSF checks These are true hotel expenses so I could run a route 4 hours away from my home town. Now I am being told we no longer have a corporate card and must use our personal card. I did this for One week and now am wondering if I will be reimbursed. At this moment I am contiplating on whether or not I should run a route out of town. I am a DSM and am almost obligated to run a route since its my Area but will I be filing bankruptcy with the company if I continue to use my own credit card and get no reimbursement.

There is no way in hell I would use my own card. If they can't pay for your expenses then screw them. You would be better off going to unemployment and claiming heartship. I thought being a one person store was bad, I'm in my store all day by myself and they think one person should do the work of three people let alone the safety issue in this. Why should you go broke like them, don't be a fool. Don't use your own money just do the best you can and make that your answer when they question you won't use your own money. I'm doing the best I can.
