Does anyone care anymore????? Does anyone make efforts for more sales? Or do you know how? There are a lot. Of people that run the thrift stores, that are clueless on how to run a store. It doesn't matter how long you've been there , it you can't make sales or profit for your stores, then you shouldn't. Be running a thrift store, when the company only hires bodies to fill a position, don't expect anything more, than they wonder why thrift stores are being closed left and right. Sometime I think that the company itself really don't care as long as they get a paycheck, and avoiding issues that should be address, there are a lot of upper managment who does this, because they do not want to deal with it themselves , they only seek position and not responsibilities in the things that matter, trying to make this company that best it can be,

My store is up in sales,I put in 10 hours a day,do my own cleaning, and shoveling.I give my girls less hours and work myself to cut down on labor. There are always clerks that have their own agendas.I wish, every clerk was like myself,I dont like drama, but these (ladies)love to start the drama. If you are tied to a depot the men love to sneak the product. You can only do your best and pray.Pray that the men will leave you alone, and know that the Lord will provide for you.Food, shelter, and clothing will be provided.Keep your chin up,and your faith strong.I will pray for you Tally.Don't give up.

I know that the company has a lot going on, I take care of my store, and take pride in how it looks, my sales are always there, and making budget is not a problem I have, its the stores who run there own store down, forcing stores who are making there numbers carry the weight in there weight, and its not right...

The older thrift store managers know they will not be touched. They have the time in,and the district manager can not or will not touch them.It is up to managers like us to pull a rabbit out of the hat and keep our own stores open.Let's face it,we do not have the depot stores and they do.They will stay open, and we will eventually close. No business is doing well now.Not just ours. The routemen right now are fighting a losing battle. If they were smart, which they arent, they would bring every piece of route returns to us with decent dates. That would require us to sell that and not spend money on fresh product.Things will never be the same as in years past.We just need to vent to one another and hang in there.Keep a smile on your face and business will come to you.No one wants to talk to a Debbie Downer when they come into a work place and buy something.Keep a good look out in life and your customers will come and see you,and spend their money.Who cares what the other stores are doing. They will be the end of their own demise.

I have a depot ...I have ten routes that I have to deal with. There are some of them , that I don't even bother checking, because I know that they are out of code, I love working there, and even though other store are just hanging by a thread, the only thing thAt keeps them there is senority, and not performance what so ever, but your right, I should concern myself with other stores, they have there own issues to deal with, I don't know what area you work at, but there are a lot of changes going on, just lost golden flakes vendor in all the thrift down in florida, I think we are going to warehouse chips to reduce cost...

I don't have a depot, I'm a single store and yes my store is doing real bad. Do I think it's my fault not at all. My store is empty all most all the time, why because I don't get my deliveries. This company has more reasons why the truck didn't show up that I'm starting to think it's part of a plan to shut me down. My ordering is limlted because like all of us we have to depend on returns and because I hardly ever get a delivery my returns are out of code when I do get one. I work four days a week by myself and only have another person on truck days for four hours. When the truck doesn't show up the company thinks I should call my other girl and tell her to stay home to save money. What part don't they get once you schedule a person you can't call them and tell them to stay home. If I did do that the union would be all over me. So just to let you know it's not just the managers screwing up it's the company.

If the store is not profitable they will terminate it. They reopened a thrift store in Naples that was closed for five years in which they spent a bunch of our money from concessions to remodel the place. They did they gentlemen strip on the wall with shit brown with a lighter shit brown to complement the linoleum. They hired a guy to check the returns and run the joint. His benefits never turned active for which they already had a plan for him. After he closed shop for the night his boss changed the locks and cleaned out house. He didn't even tell him they had plans on closing it down. He was a friend of the family too. In closing the company is cutting corners anyway they can. They are making my wife pay back all her claims cause they denied her for insurance after 2 years of being on it. Stupid audit. Its not over. I will still call everyday! Enjoy your benefits now cause they will be the next thing to go.

The central offices will be closed as of January and all the work is going to the Phillipines. We were told we have to train them in order to get severance pay. Nice huh???? Then on to the next part of the country. The company management has no loyalty to keeping jobs in the US. Brain Driscoll is anti America. They have ran what used to be a great company into the ground. SHAME ON ALL OF THE NEW MANAGEMENT. We worked many, many years for this company and they are now treating us like trash. SHAME ON THEM!!!!!!!!!!

I was told today by someone in another depot that all the thrift stores are going down, and that there going to start closing them in the real near future. Has anyone else heard this. I wish they would stop stringing us along and get it over with.

My store was turned into a one person store today. Starting Monday only one person is aloud in the store at a time. Where's the safety in that? There trying to kill us so they don't have to pay into unemployment.

Does anyone know why we're being asked to turn in the handhelds that were ordered for the outlet stores? Are they the wrong ones?
