The government's program proposals, some members of Congress, and members of the administration (including the President) also are confusing and misleading in some cases. Truth is hard to find - all are streching the truth to benefit themselves.

The reason Republicans are so against reforming healthcare and reining in the preposterous policies of insurance companies is that for many, many years, both the insurance and pharmacutical industries have been LARGE contributors to their (Republican) election campaigns.
Why would Republicans want that to end? They don't care about taking care of "the people"; rather, they simply don't want the flow of money to end. Plain and simple.
