Seniors brace for pricier drug coverage in ’09

There are 9 comments on the www.msnbc.msn.com story from Nov 13, 2008, titled Seniors brace for pricier drug coverage in ’09. In it, www.msnbc.msn.com reports that:

Robert Clark describes himself as a bit of a tightwad. So he's a little perplexed about the news from his Medicare drug plan. His monthly premium will rise from about $25 a month to about $41 a month next year. And his wife, June, will face the same increase.

Clark, of Cumming, Ga., emphasized he just wants to be treated fairly. "I've always been careful about my money," he said. "I don't understand why it has to double."

Riddle me this, riddle me that...

Bush's senior prescription drug plan is not allowed (by law)to negotiate better drug prices with Big Pharma.
The Veterans Administration negotiates drug prices with Big Pharma.
Why the difference? Because Big Pharma bought and paid for too many politicians. Is it any suprise that the costs of the plan are skyrocketing?

You seem to have an "Obama's fault" spin on everything. Note that the story is not about increased drug costs, it's about increased Medicare premiums. Medicare policies are under Bush's watchful and benevolent eye, for now.

I haven't read the story yet, but the headlined caught my attention - looks like another Bush legacy coming down the pipeline? I knew he was screwing up medicare a couple of years ago on those who are barely able to understand what is coming their way.

Republican congress need to unite, stop attacking, do their job and go forward. The republican congress did not do a good job in protecting americans under Bush and they do not have the ability to protect americans economy today. The republican congress was the problem under Bush and they are the same problem today. The republican congress look backward instead of going forward. The American people need a united congress to work as on in making change. The american people know the problems and we need answers. THE REPUBLICANS BLAME THE DNC AND DO NOT WORK FOR CHANGE. The republicans need to stop the hate and unite as a congress to serve america. The republican history is not americans future. Palin and her GOP gov. do not have the answers. Americans have already changed and the people of old washington need to change or go home.

ARE REPUBLICANS STUCK ON STUPID IN A MUD OF HATE?
JOE LIBERMAN NEED TO BE PLACED IN A DIFFERENT POSITION.

Each position should be changed if needed!

Hate and blame in a republican congress will not take america forward.
STOP THE CRAP AND GO FORWARD.
EACH PERSON SHOULD BE AN ANSWER THAT IS NEEDED TO HELP AMERICA GO FORWARD NOT THE REPUBLICAN PROBLEM THAT WILL TAKE AMERICA BACKWARD.
YOU ARE GIVEN THIS MOMENT---- WHAT WILL YOU DO TO UNITE AMERICA AND BETTER THE ECONOMY!

WHAT IS YOUR POSITIVE PART IN HISTORY MAKING?
Congressman calls bonuses "theft" of taxpayer money
U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Brighton, on Thursday decried reports stating Wall Street firms being assisted through a massive government bailout are giving bonuses to executives.(ref:topix)
RE-ORGANIZE THE FIRMS---GET RID OF CEOs----- WHAT DO BUSH HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS?
YES, AND YOU ARE A PART OF THE PROBLEM.------- WHAT WILL YOU DO ABOUT IT?

WORK FOR CHANGE AND UNITE IN CONGRESS TO SERVE ALL AMERICANS!

PUT A 6 MONTH FREEZE ON HOME FORECLOSURE TODAY.
STOP TAX ON SENIOR AMERICANS WHO HAVE A SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY TODAY.

The increase in premium from $25 to $41 is very steep. Mine is going up from about $34 to $38: 10% or more. I think there is a wide range of Medicare drug policies but investigating all of them is bound to give one a migraine. One woman reported a year ago that she spent hours finding the right policy for her mother. But the (main)Medicare premiums for parts A and B will be the same next year as this year.
