Can anyone explain to me how the Cash for Clunkers is working for foreign auto manufactures like Volksasgen, Nissan, Toyota and Hyundai? Is their government kicking in funds or is our tax money benefiting foreign auto manufacturers? Does anyone know?

Most new cars that are purchase are foreign cars.

I know most cars are foreign these days, but do these foreign cars get a $4,500 check from Uncle Sam?? Our tax dollars are supplementing foreign car companies? Why?
