As someone who was raised on a farm and dealt with animals everyday, I'm am saddened and outraged by this video. I know the animals on my farm were never treated in this way and I think I can safely say this is not representative of the majority of American farmers. It is in the farmers best interest to provide the best care for the animals so the animals are healthy and produce a good product.

As a livestock producer, this type of behavior is unacceptable. These rare instances do no represent the overwhelming majority of hard working farmers and ranchers that provide food for this country.

People who abuse helpless animals cannot be trusted and are acknowledged to more than likely commit violent crimes against humans. It is disgusting. They should have a list of these people like they do for sex offenders!

Put Sarah Palin on that list. Check the youtube videos.(Sarah Palin:killkillkill, etc) stuff about wolf hunting from helicopters, and moose hunting also. It is so sad and awful it is difficult to watch. Don't let children or sensitive people see it. It can cause nightmares. I did not read this story even. One totally disgusting thing about the Iowa legislature in the past _ I don't know what happened more recently - was that because there were not strict enough laws against child abuse, some legislators said they could not pass tough laws against animal abuse! Isn't that evil! Obviously there should be tougher laws against child abuse, abuse of women, abuse of animals, abuse in nursing homes and prisons and places where the mentally ill are confined and undefended, abuse of other helpless people, abuse of trees, even! People need to value all life, except those living things that are direct threats to humans or pets or farm animals, or to the existence of whole species. I guess maybe that makes some parts of mankind of less value. Animal abusers belong in jail, or in a psychiatric clinic, to find out what made them so sick-o! In the case of puppy-mills, it is probably mostly greed, and they need to be regulated in every state, and inspected by certified vets.

As a person who makes his living in production animal agriculture what is shown on this video in unacceptable and should not be tolerated.

What is shown would not be tolerated on any farm in my area or in my sector of production agriculture.

My goal is provide the highest quality product to my customers and it definately can't be accomplished using the methods shown.

we (americans) go half a world away to yell how civilized we are and how great our democracy is etc but this is what a majority of our red-necks do.
And a bitch- Palin is a potential candidate for the post of VP!

The acts committed by the people in this video are not acceptable, and these people should be held accountable for their actions. Farmers go to great lengths to care for their animals. My family has missed many family gatherings, dinners, ball games, school events, etc because our animals needed our attention. We put our animals needs before our own, and I am not alone in doing this. Every farmer I know does the same thing. If we don't care for our animals, we can't provide healthy food for our family or yours. Farmers who raise pigs follow national standards called Pork Quality Assurance Plus. This video is not representative of farms found in the U.S, regardless of size or type. American farmers produce safe, healthy and abundant food for all of us. It's in their best interest to respect and care for their animals.

It is so sad watching this kind of unhuman treatments towards animals. People don't understand that by beating animals stresses them which eventually passes to us humans and we also get effected by that. We eat meat that has been stress and beated. This is very awfull and those workers need to be punished. I think we need better protection for animals that includes haveing video cameras in the farms and do whatever we can to prevent this kind of abuse.
