I am aware that many people have had horrible experiences with H & R Block while others have had extraordinary pleaseant experiences. Not all of their offices are opened for the entire year and those that are seem to be the ones that will give you the excellent service. In any event the office that serves me has been great. In March of 2008,due to an error made on my 2006 tax return by my H & R agent, IRS notified me that I owed a substantial amount in back taxes and interest. As a result of the Peace of Mind contract the agent was able to promptly get H & R Block to issue me a check that not only reimbursed me fully for the interest that I owed but also fully for the back taxes that was owed! It was their position that I should not have to pay for unexpected taxes as a result of their mistake. Again, if you can find the right office than H&R is the place to go.
