OMG Mel , another person like me delaing with this problem today! I am not caught up on my bills and i dont have a peeny to my name! This is absolutely ridiculous!

So why don't you people just do a direct deposit from the IRS to your bank account. Oh, I know why, because you can't get your finances in order so you whine about anything when something goes wrong and you blame everyone else for your problems that you have created.

I think that h&r block is the best severice that we can recieve. It is easy fast and the people are very caring. I have been using H&R block for a few years now and I yet to have one problem with anything that h&r block has done for me. I have brought friends to the h&r block taxe place to ask ant=y questions they were treated with the up most respect. I got the emerald card for the first time this year and have been well pleased with the card. I went to a Capitol One bank and withdrew most of the money to deposit into my local checking account, only cost 20 bucks. Using the card at our local mall and restaurants has been quite easy and trouble free.

How much do you withdraw at a time ? if its under $150, all you need to do is go into a grocery store buy your stuff and get some cash back . If you have a wells fargos bank in your area you may want to try them up to $800 at a time for the same fee

The best way to use this card is getting cash back when you go in to the grocery store to shop. Pick up a chewing gum or a bottle of water for 99cents and ask for some money back at least up to a $150 in some grocery stores no atm fee charges

I have had my card for 2 yrs. and haven't had any problems...the Irvington NJ location explaind everything you needed to know about the card even the hidden fees.....read the fine print.

I call my card everyday just to check what I have on it well I know I haven't used it in two days now they said $54.36 was on my card today and 20.00 was on my card today. I have been home for the past TWO days they have taken 74.36
for me and my kis I am pissssssssssst off. I want my money back!!!!

Today I went online to check my balance and see that $17.96 was removed from my account. I called customer service and found out it was from intrest on the loan that was paid off when I did my taxes. Huh !! Ihave read all my paperwork and dont see anything about being be charged intrest.Supposedly a superviser will call me back in 24 hours. Yeah sure they will.

i am short of cash to pay my rent and wanted another advance on my emerald card. i paid the previous balance in full. I called and said i have an emergency and need this money. i was told that pay the 13.00 fee and you can get this advance. So with my landlord and a deputy sheriff listening i get told that i dont get this advance and now my family is out. well it is below zero and my family got kicked out. boy you paid your loan and 3 weeks early you just needed a little help and you get told no after being told yes.my 8yr old child thanks you now what do you do????

Hi. Just FYI I read a document recently that said that when TPS withheld the money to repay the emerald advances, it was an estimated amount and in some cases there were small amounts of money still outstanding on the loans. According to the document, if the balance due was under $4, the bank would wave the balance, if it was under $25 the taxpayer could either pay the balance directly or take care of it when they file their taxes with HR Block next year (with no impact to the borrower's credit report). If it's $25 or over, then they need to make arangements with HR Block bank to repay the money.

If you're in this situation I'd contact H&R Block's bank for confirmation as I wouldn't trust a message off an internet board alone.

I am an employee for H&R Block's customer care center. The reason most people are having issues with this card is because they don't read the terms and conditions that come with the product. You are the ultimately responsible for knowing your account details. All of the fees and account details are given to the clients when they file their taxes. ALL of the clients. When I set up my direct deposit I check it once and I check it again probably three times. If your direct deposit did not go through, either unemployment messed up or you did. The simple routing and account number was given to you in your tax preperation papers. Maybe the fact that you can't set up a simple direct deposit is the reason my tax dollars pay for you to live. Quit blaming my company that provides for me and my family for your error.

Amanda, it is my understanding that the state refund is not deposited into the emerald card. You may want to llok at your returns. I know I have mine being directed deposited-and that is what takes 5-7 days.
