Also, may I invite you to go to http://www.topix.com/forum/com/hrb/TALIMLS6KM... and view entry 33 from me. Thanks Gary. I will let my sister-n-law know this she has been getting $4,000-$4,500 every year. She even claims her two sons which one does not live at home and is 22 (not in school either) and the other is 24 not in school and lives at home. She says she told them (H&R Block) this but they said she can claim them.I told her she better be prepared to be audited. She doesn't seem worried about it.

You usually see most of H&R just before tax time. Little did I know that I was going to end up being their victims. I stsrted out doing my taxes on their so called signature program. When I realized that I was not willing to pay $99.00 I tried going into another program and their rip off program won't let me. Never mind the fact that I did not click on file taxes. I feel cheated and I called and wrote but no one has had the guts to call me back. I don't appreciate their tactic on the day before taxes. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who had this problem. I'm still waiting for them to refund me most of my money. Maybe that's why our country is in the shape it's in because of big businesses the rob poor people

Hi Gary, IN 2006 I was self employed, which made my income tax return quite complicated. I was working for a company which paid commission, but substitued income with a "draw". WHen I filed my tax return (a little late, I should add), the "tax professional" assured me that the draw was not taxable. I've since been assessed and penalized nearly $4000. I am right now in the midst of a struggle with H&R Block to get them to pay the penalties (which their guarantee clearly states they will do, in the event they have made a mistake). they are now trying to say that I intentionally hid the income, which couldn't be further from the truth, and have misplaced the copy of my T4. I'll let you know how it turns out. Jennifer, Kingsotn, ON
