Diplomacy is your answer? Chavez is the radical leftist of South America today. He hates the USA. You're going to do what? EXACTLY how are you going to "save" those four oil rigs for big oil. Let's hear it. Remember they have 9 other active rigs they are doing business with Chavez and making millions from. Let's hear it rightwinger. How EXACTLY are you going to hold Chavez responsible. Or your just running your Sarah Palin ignorant mouth on Obama for attention?
You've lost the argument, so you resort to personal attacks. Typical liberal. My conversation with you is done, you are too far gone for rational conversation. Good day.

Let me translate for Bubba. He has no solution. He's just doing his Okie Hick imitation of Sarah Palin. Hating on Obama without a single specific solution as to what he would do.

Folks, here is a shining example of liberal acceptance and compassion. A varitable keyboard kowboy, who in real life, has no friends and spends hours a day harassing people online who's views differ from his own. It would be safe to say, if he were ever confronted in real life, by any of the people he so callously berates here, he would surely piss himself and beg for reprieve.

Is that a threat bubba? Just FYI, there are many many millions of people in this country that aren't liberals but aren't right wing hicks like yourself. We understand you uneducated hicks call everyone not licking Sarah Palin's boots a "liberal". Doesn't it make it so but it does easily identify a hick who calls everyone a liberal that is not a hick.

I'm still waiting for his answer.

What price do you put on the heads of those Americans that are there? I think they should be brought home PRONTO. Don't take time to look back or it may be the pause that allows them to be taken hostage, or worse. Write those rigs off as a big mistake and don't go back in there again. In the meantime, let this be a lesson that we do business in OUR country and not somewhere else where the same thing(s) can happen.

I agree, I could give a shit less about the rigs, its the americans maintaining them that need to be the focus. People don't get that the rigs are not abondoned there are still workers there. Bleeding hearts like dusty woud say they get what the deserve untill its him in that position.

When dealing with a despot like Chavez, should anything surprise you? I can't believe that H&P didn't have any clue that this could happen. Unfortunately, it's his sand box and if you want to play there, you have to play by his rules. This man is truly evil and adds another facet to the axis of evil.
This is more media sensationalization. H&P knew last year this was going to happen. All you oil hating tree huggers if you drive a car, live in a house, use anything plastic or anything manufactured shut up, you are part of the problem. jeez

What is the threat at to workers at this very instant that can't be negated by simply pulling them out? That's not Obama's job or decision to make. That's the companies call.

And they won't. Why? Because they are making HUGE money still with the 9 wells they have pumping. They're crying the blues while still making significant money or they would have already pulled out if they weren't. But they want their corporate cake and eat it too. They and you want Obama to "save them". Save them from what? Themselves? They can pull the workers anytime. The workers can quit and come home anytime. This is not Obamas's problem no matter how much you hicks try to make it.

dusty, dusty, dusty...i agree with you most of the time and yeah i don't think its obama's prob either but this is very old news and if you did some research you would see that H&P being surprised is like a hooker wondering where the baby came from after nine months. Other than degreed engineers (which may be just a few) the rest of them are just mud covered locals.

We agree that this is old news. Anyone being surprised that Chavez is nationalizing something more again is an idiot.

Helmerich and Payne has every right to demand payment.

Chavez has no right to sieze U.S. owned businesses for Goverment use.

The U.S. State Department should take action to protect U.S. owned companies from any suggested takeover.

And what "action" do you propose that to be?

It was a risk H&P took by putting their equipment there. Chavez has been loopy for way longer than just what is being reported in the media. Last year when H&P began asking for what was owed to them is for some reason about the same time when Chavez said he was going to keep their equipment. Venezeula is a volatile country and our company will not do business with them unless we receive the payment before we send anything to them. Chavez gets a kick out of being defiant to the USA and you can see this in his goofy smile when he makes his statements about us.

H & P are still doing business with Chavez on 9 other wells. I just wonder what these people that want Obama to "do something" WHAT EXACTLY IS IT THEY WANT HIM TO DO??? You ruffle Chavez's feathers and he'll take them all. I think H & P is still making huge profit or they wouldn't still be doing business with him. It's their baby. Deal with it.
