Perhaps if those vulture capitalists aka Wasserstein & Co. hadn't leveraged Harry & David so heavily, sold bonds to get back their stake and more, and then charged exorbitant management fees, the company might have have been able to weather the downtown in the economy. Instead they bled the H&D dry. I feel for the residents of Medford, OR. I love Wasserstein's mission statement:" Executing Strategic Visions to Help Businesses Embrace Change". Maybe not the change businesses want to embrace. But they've got the execution right.
