Are these people crazy??? They want to put a multi-level parking lot in front of Aloha Tower. Parking in downtown does not compliment the rail system. This makes absolutely no sense, Leave the park where it is and get rid of the parking so we can have a real urban park not a pile of concrete.

This is Aloha Tower we're talking about. Nothing to get in an uproar about. They will diddle around for years and then drop this plan and run off to chase a new, better plan.

Management seems to prove their worth by spinning their wheels and waving their arms a lot.

Multi-level parking on the waterfront. That makes almost as much sense as placing a power plant on the waterfront. I suppose, when it is all over with, the recreation areas will end up under the rail line.

When will they learn that State agencies (and the people that work there) lack both the vision and experience to do any development much less creative development. They should hire a developer, mess around with the developer for a few years, ruin the deal, get sued and then lose a multi-million dollar judgement.......oh wait, they tried that already.

This is the worst idea I've ever heard! That's right, destroy what's left of the once-beautiful park fronting the iconic Aloha Tower and build an ugly PARKING GARAGE -- and then "move" the park to filled-in pier space!! RIDICULOUS! FAR BETTER is the plan noted by Michelle Matson to RESTORE the park and ELIMINATE Cars! Build the parking garage elsewhere!
Another case of "developers" thinking only of their special interests and not of preserving our history and beauty! The Irwin Foundation would be crazy to accept this!

DOWN-SCALE DOWNTOWN. MOST OF THE BUILDINGS ARE OUT OF SCALE TO THE HUMAN BEING. RESTORING AND CONSERVING IRWIN PARK WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT FIRST STEP TO RECLAIM THE GRANDURE THAT WAS DOWNTOWN HONOLULU.
IT WOULD BE WISE FOR THE "CONSTRUCTORS" TO HEED MS. MATSON'S WISHES. SHE IS ONE VERY SMART LADY ... AND EASY ON THE EYES TOO BUT CAN BE AS DANGEROUS AS A RABID GOAT WHEN ANGERED.
