I have a 2001 sportester, Can you run a D402 front tire on the back. It is a 16" tire. Would there be a problem, if so why?

Front and rear tires are not the same. The rear tire is flatter across the tread. The side walls are a highr ply than the front. They carry the majority of the bikes weight. The tread designs are different as they serve different functions. In other words, that 16 is about the only thing the same.
