Home Depot California African American store managers that are highly qualified for these $100K+ jobs are forced out of Home Depot at drastically higher rates than any other group of people. This is supported by the Regional Vice President Bryan Audiss who oversees every aspect of hiring, firing training and promoting future store managers in California. This is in spite of the sizable African American assistant store managers in a qualified pool that can be promoted. Home Depot refuses requests to detail the diversity in the company for good reason; there is little diversity at Home Depot

This does not surprise me as number of years ago Home Depot was sued because of their abject violations in the HR process that led to very few women getting promoted. Now keep in mind this is with an army of store and district HRís in place that were completely okay with this abject violation of law. 5 Years ago this RVP had 64 stores in his region and there were 2 female store managers. The female hiring and promotion has gotten fairer but only because the company had a MASSIVE lawsuit and as a result the bonus structure was changed that effects the RVP's based on the percent of females in position per region. Now that the RVPís and Divisional President (and the entire district and regional team, HRís included) stand to lose BIG bonus's due to their bigoted and illegal hiring practices they have started to get rid of the people they like least to attempt to improve the female staffing %. Many on the district, regional and divisional level turn a blind eye to the situation because they donít want to lose their job taking on the issue or lose their bonus if the female staffing% does not increase. The Jefferson quote "Ignorance and bigotry, like other insanities, are incapable of self-government." is a prime example of why Home Depot and so many of these big box companies are in dire need of the workers organizing, because the self-governance these companies have maintained leaves the hourly workers that are working like mad to improve their lives, little or no leverage. Home Depot labor needs a union to protect it from the unfair practices that exist. Get informed or get walked all over.

This nut job Bryan Audiss is known from the days he was a store Manager. His boss Joe McFarland used to be his Assistant Manager when Bryan was a store manager. Joe is his "boy". Bryan doesn't give a lick about anything other his own bigoted small minded view of the world. I am suprised there is even one black store manager with him as the RVP. As soon a Joe got into office the Pac South RVP was toast. Lots of bigots. James Palomaria and Tim Jenkins are not far behind Bryan acting insane. Someone really needs to take a close look at all of this.

Yep, speaking of Joe Mc Farland....when he came back to Pac South,he was scheduled for a visit to his "Home" store,Mission Viejo.Associates worked overnite,the store was spit polished, on hands tweeked,door greeter in place.The store manager held a welcome at the front such as you have never seen.....like a home comming from battle.And at a time when raises were at 1% or none at all, Joe and his entrouge got out of a LIMO.Yesseriee, cronyism at its finest.A slap on the rear for all customer facing associates.

Hi Dumfounded that was a great post. Keep in mind Joe McFarland is a person making $500K plus a year during the worst economy we have ever seen and associates are making 1 and 2 % increases with an average wage of $10-11 hour covering 3000 square feet of warehouse. To make sure he does his part for the economy he will spends THOUSANDS on fuel to fly a couple of hundred miles on the "company party jet". All this to spend 10 minutes "walking" your store to tell you how FABULOUS everything is in the world and how fortunate you should feel to ďwork for such a great companyĒ. Now here is the punch line: Joe McFarlands experience outside of Home Depot (the only job other than the marine corp that he had ever had), ZERO. ZERO!!!! Formal education: ZERO!!!! NADA!!! ZILCH!!!
This person runs 1/3 of a incredibly complex $70 billion dollar international retail giant and he could not find most counties (or most of our states) on a map with an encyclopedia! This is a person that runs 1/3 of the largest home improvement companies in the entire world and he possesses ZERO intellectual curiosity. NONE!! This can only happen in this soulless company that possess NO heart and even less brains. I once heard that to lead the ignorant hire the ignorant as their leaders. They must have heard that same quote. But we will be ignorant NO LONGER!!
Homies you need to take back your company from these people or they will continue to destroy a company you love. We love. Get the word out. Email everyone the link to the video

Get online and become part of the ground swell in support of a union to ensure there is change that will protect you from this ongoing lunacy by brain dead managers like Joe McFarland who have been conning you forever. Get involved! Make flyers, talk about putting a union together, keep it on the down low, make flyers, post them in the break room, hand them to associates. Let the clean shinny aprons know you are MAD AS HELL AND YOU ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!

The link mentions the video on youtube titled "Message to Home Depot". If you go to youtube and search "Message to Home Depot" it will come up. If you simply put "Home Depot Video Goes Viral" into any search engine the articles come up. They are all over the internet. Those would make great flyers.

There is SO much of this at Home Depot it is unreal. I overheard a district manager ripping and threatening so many people its not funny. We all got together and gave the information to Dan Englund Human Resource Manager and what was done, nothing. He is a real RVP lackey. I am sure it was because Dan Englund and the DM were best friend. I am sure Dane and Bryan Audiss get a real kick out of this kind of thing. Dane Englund witnessed SO much first hand and did nothing. He ran our Store HR out of the store that we LOVED, but she must have not been the right complexion for him. Company is full of trash like Dane Englund. I am for it. Sign me up. They are so good at keeping this kind of thing under the radar that only a union will flush it out. I am in. I will get some info out to my store.

Jenn I almost hit the floor when I read your post. Dane Englund Human Resources is the worst of them ALL. Useless and lazy on every level. He brings new meaning to the word corrupt. I could fill pages here. He has been doing Bryan Audiss's dirty work for years. How does a nut like that go un noticed so long? I am so glad you posted that. I am surprised he did not find a way to fire you and your folks for reporting that District Manager. He's great at inventing a case if someone had to go, let me tell you. I seen lots get promoted to customer dealing with him. I hear you about the unions because so many of the HR and associate relations meat suits are like him, corrupt and henchman. They do nothing for us but try to keep us scared and in our place.

Dane Englund Home Depot Human resources manager got exactly what was coming to him. How many people had to be screwed over by this clown and people like John Cleary Associate Relations Manager and the rest of those bozos before there is something done?!?!? How many people have to be fired in these bogus investigations until someone says enough!! Dan Englund should have been fired YEARS ago. Dane Englund Home Depot Human Resources Manager was the most incompetent, corrupt HR ever!!!! Only bigger loser is John Cleary!! Wake up Home Depot!!!

We have called the aware line a bunch of time letting corporate know this creepy fool is always learing at us and can never be counted on for anything other than to run the company inquisition "investigations". Yeah he is terrible. Not sure what motivated this person to be so disturbed. If you don't agree with him he and do what he says ...you become a target. I think a union has long been over due...we are meeting here also. How did John Cleary even get hired?? We know someone that worked with him in one of his previous companies and he was fired for being a lunatic and a liar!! Who checks on these people??

John Cleary Human Resources Manager has been part of so much of the type of nonsense that has been the down fall of our company. He does not know anything about Human Resources and seems like he and Dane Englund were cohorts in these so-called bogus investigations. This is why we are organizing and why we are voting yes on collective bargaining. Dane and John Cleary Home Depot Human Resources Manager represent the text book example of why associates need protection and cannot trust ANYONE in management in the company. John Clearly always seem permanently annoyed at any issues associates bring up to him, he cannot be trusted to keep any confidences and only cares about covering his own ass. John Cleary Home Depot Human Resources Manager does not know anything about what is REALLY going on in the stores and will be the reason Pac Central stores will be the first stores in the companyís history to unionize.

We got some calls about John Cleary Human Resources Manager from Atlanta asking about his bogus investigations, his lies and "have you heard of any union activity" in the store. What a joke. Like we are going to tell those jerk offs anything. You figure these fools would have some insight into the problem. This Store Manager is a joke on every level and no one in the store respects his stupidity, bad attitude, blatant favoritism, lies and harassment. No matter how many times he interrogates associates he still will get ZERO information. No one listened to our complaints in the past. Maybe they will when we vote for collective bargaining.

Yeah John Cleary is a a joke. He is the woste excuse of a human resource manager there ever was!! He did some real shady syht getting one of the ASM fired. Total lies and manipulate the situation to get them fired. I have already reported this meat sak to corporate but they still let him continue his stupidity. I just about fell out when I say this post about John Cleary Associate Relations Manager. About time somone spoke up. How in the world can he have this title? NOTHING could be farther from the truth. I don't know why he gets such a kick out of firing someone but he tried to get me to say things that we just not true. I am sure because I would not lie I am on the chopping block. I would rather be fired with my integrity than succumb to his asinine third reich technics. Sad ...very sad. Yeah a couple of departments are all going to dinner to talk strategy to get people together on organizing. Maybe then no one can try that sh%$t.

It is very blatant in California. You figure it would be more progressive here. I mentioned this post to some friends and we all checked around. Nothing. No black store managers anywhere to be found. Not sure how that can really happen in this day and age, but yeah....it does in this place. We have been getting the word out and we will get more folks to check out the information. Keep up the work homer buddies!! It is time for a union. Looking at the MASSIVE amount of posts with associate horror stories this is not an isolated incident. It is company wide. It's wild to see so much of what happened in my store repeated by associates all over the country. Guess the hot shots that run the company care more about their cushy jobs and big salaries then us. So be it. See you at the union vote.

It does not get any worse than this guy John Cleary. He tried that underhanded BS with us but we checked the others stores about his MO and we got his number. We know all his dirty tricks and how he cheats. Just looking to lob off heads, right, wrong, innocent or otherwise. Squirrelly beadey eyed little runt of a man. Not good people. I see why he works for the big shots he is just like them.

It does not matter. The HR's are in the companies back pocket and create all the drama. Someone says to them get rid of 5 people they just make a list and start looking for something irrelevant to pin on them. Good friend terminated for reasons that are based on he said she said. Corporate just plays along. They donít care. This is long overdue. They still terminated them. Aware line is where the managers find the rats. Then the rats are weeded out. They just want a work force that will do that they want, when they want it. We have all see it all and itís all just a joke.
