i have been working for home depot for 7 years, yes i have lived through all the changes, but i still believe in the company, it has the best training and benefits of any good decent company out there, those of you that want to complain so much should evaluate your own way of doing things, maybe it starts with you. lets not bite the hand that feeds us to quickly here, im not saying there are no issues out there but obviously someone noticed, lets hope for the best and stand behind our company.

YOu're right. I've been with the company for 3 years now and it has provided my family with a living. It has put food on my table, bought me a house, and taught me a lot of good business sense. Everything goes through change.

I could never buy a house on the wages I am paid. Our HR hired a female (not knocking females,just this one)who was built for the ride.She turned down his first and second wage offers over a two week period. When he called her the third time with an even higher wage offer she accepted,and put her starting wage quite bit higher than mine and I had been there five years. She was in dept 21-22 and could not cut lumber or load a cart or anything. I did about everything in the whole store except flooring orders and special order electrical. Needless to say I am not a happy camper with the current managment and the way they run the store. |

I work at home depot and i will never shop there or even work there again they are indeed total rip off artisis.The management also really doesnt care,even about there employees that complain about not enough staff and no help for new staff.
Trust me shop at lowes,rona,or if your in canada...Canadian tire. |

when you have started with yourself and because of race, gender, and not ability and dedication then what. I pray for the best as with anyone God does not go against anyones will and if managers and supervisors, continue to to be predjudice in hiring and wage distribution the evill will continue you are not blind you have seen the injustices. |

store 6335 port orange fl sucks all the way the worst that i ever seen the managers and supervisors.....bad know nothing about retail sales or how to make a work schedule.so we have coveage.in the store. are HR. 1 yr with home depot.knows nothing about retail and DONT ask him anything....sorry but over 30 yes in retailing this.is............THE WORST.THIS CO IS GOING DOWN

Hello Louise. As for home depot having good training, that’s up for interpretation. As for great benefits, yes I’ll agree. As for home depot feeding us? NOT one bit. They don’t take care of us, they don’t give us a roof over our head, nor clothes on our back. It’s our work for them that gives us a pay check and then we use the pay check to get a roof over our head and food in our belly. THEY DON’T GIVE IT TO US, we WORK for it. It’s an even exchange. We give to them, to get something from them. When they gave us a job, it was not a gift from them, nor did they give it to us, it was the favor of God, God gave it to us. Now that we have the job, the money is not a gift, it’s a wage. Also why should we not complain at the issues of injustice in home depot? I would not dare complain at a store that is not “PERFECT” however a store that is hypocritical I WILL complain about, yes I will. There is a difference between imperfection, and hypocrisy. A store can be imperfect but genuine with genuine managers, but still be imperfect in it’s performances. That can be tolerated. But hypocrisy I cannot tolerate, and so yes I will complain at that injustice! I will NOT PRETEND to be grateful for stinking hypocrisy. And no it’s not my own way of doing things that are bad. I do my job every day and complete it. And not to many managers complain about it either(unless they complain about it behind my back). However even though I am an average employee, still I notice the hypocrisy and it’s wrong. Plain and simple. And I think everyone should complain about it. That’s why no justice is don, because no one will have the courage to complain! They are deceived in thinking it’s wrong to complain, it’s “ungrateful” they think. That’s BOLONEY! People need to be a voice together if they want to see justice don. Open your blind eyes.

I am trying to get all of the information about my case before I complain. I think that I am being descriminated against because I am female. I do packdown and was told going into it that their would be no pay increase from cashiering to that position. The three men I work with all make 10 an hour which is more than me. We all do the same job and have the same hours. I am trying to find out what the minimum pay is.

Ya i think you should pay attention to that hunch you have that is telling you that you are being discriminated against. Find out and if you are, then i would incourage you to complain, full out.

I asked one of the managers what the minimum pay is and she just told me and would not print out anything that had the information on it so she is hiding it from me. Also one of the people that was on my packdown team transferred to an IMA position and was told that that position is a lateral position to packdown and that it is not more money. I know for a fact that that is BS.This is the same manager that I am dealing with who is in charge of freight, IMA and packdown. I think I am going to find a new job.

You should ask that manager to print out the information for you. Did you ask her to print it out? If so, what did she say? and why would she not print it out? And if it was because she was not allowed to, ask her if you can LOOK at the computer that says it. I'm not telling you what to do or anything. But if i were you, i would do that. I think you should do those very specific things. Don’t let them treat you unjustly.
It's either one of two things going on here. Either 1 home depot is hypocritical, or 2 certain individuals within home depot are hypocritical, sort of like a virus in a body. Those viruses need to be squashed. |

The manager would not even let me see the computer. The manager I had originally asked did not even know if he could show me so he asked her what to do and she just told me the range of pay and said that she had just looked it up before she came into the office. The funny thing is why would she just be looking at packdown pay range because she did not even know that I was in the office with the other manager when he called her to see if pay range could be discussed for a position. I have been trying to talk to the store manager but he is never in the building and HR just tells me to talk to the managers and they dont have pay information. I think I might call the labor board.

Ok, i see, they would not even let you see the computer either. Ya i think it would be a good idea then to call the labor board as you mentioned. And when you find out the truth on the matter and if they lied go to them and give em hell. :P Well not hell, but adress it firmly.
