I was put on the PIP whatever it is because of CC & Epp's or lack of them. Well when I first strated they didn't mention I had to get these! I take it as a attack on my job and I am a shareholder! I am also over 50 and live in a small town with a small population and I know a lot of people! You get the picture I am not a big employee like ASM or a DH. I am just a cashier and have been one for 6+ years. To me this is an attack on my charater and mental state of mind and I am passing on to everyone I know about this company after all they just sprung this on me during my review and I have documents stating to the contrary of the alligations about my preformance including a #24,640 drawer that matched during a day of cashiering. My wife has hired a lawyer and I have sent a letter to wall street and the Federal Government about the corporation tactics. I also have the money to fight this and when they decide to fire me I will have them fired also. Beside being an electrical engineer I know how they meat their sales goals and it isn't legal! Mess with me them SOB's Just like PIP isn't it!

I have worked with The Home Depot for 22 years, and, by far and away, have seen ethical, caring management. Has it been 100%? No, but those who have chosen to not follow our code of ethics have been weeded out- maybe not always as fast as everyone would wish for, but gone none the less.
If you are willing to work hard, keep the Customer uppermost in your efforts, and only expect to be rewarded for what you ARE doing, not what you SAY you can do- you can do what you desire, and make what you are willing to work for.
have they gotten rid of you yet?
you must be in the brownnoser hall of fame
either that or you make a very small paycheck
which is it slick?

I have worked for Home Depot for five months I'm the DH of paint and I'm on the pip write up program The reason being that the Sasm was worried that I wanted the store manager that she wanted.( forget that Im happily married woman and don't do things like that. Her name is Krista Sears. My review was a personal attack on me and the things she said about my work habits were all false. She is now a store manager which she got from the store manager that she liked. I work very hard and always willing to do whatever they asked me to do. including working over nights to prep for inventory on a day notice. I have worked for other retailers this by far is the absolute worst. They set you up to fail if they don't like you. This is only a little bit of my story I could go on and on but enough said. Bottom line Don't work for Home Depot worse company ever! They need under cover boss to go there and see what really goes on!

dont try to figure it out. its what the hell hole does. understand this.....if you are not a part of the "boys club", if you have a working brain, if you dont kiss ass,if you have ethics, integrity, and morales, then Home Depot will find a way to terminate you. It is happening at an alarming rate. Are you over 50, making too much money? I hope you documented and kept copies of stuff. HD associates have to get it in their heads.. DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT! Because when your ass is fired over some half truth, concocted BULLSHIT, that documentation will come in handy! The management at this company is deplorable, unethical, immoral, disrespectful and have NO idea how to manage. Hardworking associates are penalized while those that cant do their job and schmooz with the management are protected. The SOP stands for Shit on People
You have hit it right on the nail!!!! There are drunks running in dept hardware in our store and she is protected, because she is in their care.

I was terminated after 12 yrs. and two days. After my vacation my ASM over the pro desk took me in for my review ; earlier than I have ever had one. I was told to not talk!, and keep my comments to myself ,until he was done.!. He gave me the worst review I have ever had, said I had a Pip! In 2005??!! And that was it. I was the 2nd million dollar seller in the SE DISTRICT, PLUS. A WOMAN at the pro desk. That did not matter, the "BOYS CLUB" does exist . It does not matter what your performance is. If they want to get rid of you ,if you don not suck up, and try to do your job they will get rid of you. BERNIE & ARTHUR should be ashamed of the company they started and the so call MANAGERS THAT ARE SO CALLED RUNNING THEIR STORES.

I have been a DH for 3 years. I have never heard of anyone being written up or fired for not making sales plan. What about the ASM? Was he or she fired too? or the store manager? There's some things that are beyond a DH's control. Things are definitely not perfect, but that is really hard to believe.

not orange blooded... you are 150% correct
I am 54, great cashier, honest, morals, on time and always gave more when asked. My husband almost died from Pneumonia, Flu & Pulmonary Embolism in January 2014, and is now seeing 6 doctors, all appointments are on Mondays, so I needed Mondays off, or I could go in after 5:00pm.
I was due for my Vacation, and I also got a 25 cent raise. So under these circumstance's, they look for a way to fire you, and bring in the next Unsuspecting Employee.
I was fired because relief cashier did not sing herself into the register, I should have signed myself out, or checked before I left, when she had gun in hand for next customer. When I came back from break, I bought a water, unknown to me... under my sign in, with a HD Gift Card. So it was my fault. I did report to Head Cashier, but she never logged it, because they don't have log books!!!
The Cashier was a new hire, and fired after 2 weeks cause she stole $5,000 in strips, so Karma exists.
