I know it is difficult but please try not to buy from Guitar Center. They have the worst service across the board. to them next day means next-lifetime. "We are currently training new employees in the warehouse"... So until these mexicans learn english, you won't be seeing your guitar. I'll never see my Les Paul... never. I need a Guitar Hero!

Dude get a life. You had one bad experience with one employee of 1,000+ at one of 200+ stores. like you have never walked into a walmart or something and had a bad experience. People have off days. don't hold it against the whole chain. thats not fair. I'm sorry you had one bad experience. everyones only human.

I ordered a Line 6 Variax Bass online with the Digital cable on 9/21/07 they sent the cable on 9/26/07 but I didn't get the bass until 10/09/07. I got a RA to return the order, paid to send it back with my own money and have been waiting for them to credit my credit card back the money i spent and waiting and waiting. Everytime I talk to someone at Guitar Center i get the run around,"your credit card has been credited it will take a couple of days" the I call back "oh our returns department asn't processed your return yet.
I will never buy anything from Guitar Center again
If they had a bass that cost 15,000.00 on sale for a penny they wouldn't get my penny. The Worst Service In The World--Goes to Guitar Center!!!!!!!

I am a guitar center employee and would like to apologize for the service you got at that store. It is true that there are gc stores that have issues like you are talking about. Please don't think the entire company is run that way. If you had come into my store the scenario would have gone more like this:
I would first have tried to talk you out of buying the variax bass because they quite frankly suck. The sounds are cool but not worth buying an overpriced piece of shit that plays badly to get them. If you insisted and the back order thing happened (which would not if you were here - we are supposed to call the vendor and verify availability of the piece before we place an order the guy you dealt with was probably too lazy to bother) my store would have immediatly credited you your money and worried about selling the bass ourself. It would never have been your problem. We would do this even if we ended up taking a loss to keep you happy.
I will admit that GC online is a far different thing from the stores. I have heard nothing but complaints about them from our customers (I had one who was charged three times for a piece they never recieved)
You can get our killer prices without dealing with them however. just call the closest store and they will gladly drop ship you anything you need and you can deal with a salesperson who knows thier products and is personally invested in you having a good experience. If you ask the store to match the free shipping offered by all the online stores they will its company policy to match prices even if they lose the company money!
I hope you will give GC another chance in the future. Keep on Rockin man!
