Has anyone else had problems cashing this one in? I finally found out that you have to leave the part of the code after the letters off for the site to accept it, so now I've managed to get past that part, but now it won't accept my Visa for the bloody shipping. I've been sending Eco Educational emails almost daily for the past ten days but they aren't answering any of them past the first one saying I was having problems with the code (wherein they simply told me to leave out the # which wasn't the fix).

Since then: Nothing. Has anyone else run into this problem? They don't take PayPal (which is ridiculous for anyone wanting to sell stuff online) and I don't have a MasterCard or a Discover card, which are the only other options the website offers, and I can't try anything else without their cooperation.

Is this usual for them? Does EE routinely ignore customer difficulties/emails? Has their site had troubles with anyone else's Visas?

I've never dealt with them before and at this point I'm not interested in ever dealing with them again. It's just a lousy $4; I'm getting REALLY fed up with not being able to get it to them OR talk to them about it.

Anoyne have any suggestions or similar experiences with them?

Thanks.

Yes, I tried entering my payment information on three separate occasions without success. I've contacted them, but based on your experience may not receive a reply.

Heard back from them yesterday (it was shunted into my junk mail folder). Not much help though; I don't think they actually read beyond "having a problem". Their reply:

**********
Hi,

You first create an account: http://ecoeducationaltoys.com/index.php...

Select the toy that you would like to purchase.

Enter in your new voucher number in the redemption code area.

Be sure not to include the # symbol.

You will only be able to do one transaction at a time.

One toy per transaction per voucher.

We will be sending you a mass email as to how to enter the code.

We currently only have online available.

Warm Regards,

Jaclyn

I've sent them another one, both via this email address and their contact form, being as explicit as I can be that entering the Groupon code is no longer the problem. I've also contacted Groupon to see if they will help. "Warm regards" or not, "We only have online available" isn't really very much help, and it looks like that was tacked onto the bottom of a form letter, to me. Which sounds like they never actually really read what I was saying, or if they did, they aren't actually all that interested in helping me out.

REALLY unimpressed with these guys, I'll tell you.

Agreed, I am truly unimpressed as well. I don't particular care for canned responses either. Their response shows little effort to resolve the actual issue. I'll check my spam, although may find it appropriate that their response ended up there.

I did flag Eco Educational Toys via my Groupon account. I don't think they need to be featured in another Groupon offer.

Thanks for the feedback.

Nice. Hopefully it's just delayed and it still shows up. But yeah, these people SUCK at communicating.

I replied to that last email on Saturday, forwarding her that damned Groupon .pdf for the THIRD time. Still have heard NOTHING from them, and I've been keeping a close eye on my junk folder too.

Worst Groupon experience ever. I'm glad the first one was so easy (although that one hasn't arrived yet either, but at least cashing it in was simple); if this had been my first instead of my second I'd probably have quit Groupons all together.

I have similar experience with Pepe. I bought 3 toys at their website. I have no problem cashing it out. But i did not receive the toys. Under my account in their website, the status of all 3 toys were updated as "Delivered" 9 days ago, but i still did not receive them! I'v checked with local post office, no delivering records at all. I'v kept sending them emails daily through their website for days now, no response at all! No customer service at all! Now i realized why they do not provide any phone numbers even email address for their customers to reach them.

I found the same company (Eco Educational Toys) has two different websites: " http://ecoeducationaltoys.com/" ; and " http://solar-toys.net/" ;. I am assure they are from the same company because the two websites are nearly the same except different colors and diffrent user account systems. They share the same address (9251 Yonge Street STE 8582, Richmond Hill, Ont, Canada, L4C9T3). Both websites do not provide phone number and email address for customer service, both with blank link in the Terms Of Use ect. Both websites have all the excellent reviews added on the same date. I just filled out the contact us form in the second website and hope they could respond to me.

It looks like the company only has one product for sale that is "Eco Educational Toys". But FAQs on the ecoeducationaltoys.com are all talking about "Advanced Teeth Whitening Kit". The Privacy Notice on ecoeducationaltoys.com says "Teas Online Inc.( EcoEducationalToys.com )...". Teas Online Inc. is a company selling teas ( http://www.theorganicteashop.net/ ) who located within the same building as Eco Educational Toys. Pretty strange company!

And as it's allegedly shipping from Canada, and *I* am in Canada, in my experience, if they get it shipped off on Monday, it should only take a week, maybe a bit longer with the Christmas rush (which I was TRYING to avoid by buying it at the beginning of November, sheesh), it ought to be here very soon, IF it's not a scam.

I'll keep everyone posted.

And hey, if anyone DOES receive it, do let us know (and if it's any good); and if we DON'T, then I think we should not only complain to Groupon, but also leave appropriate reviews at the site. We'll see if they make it up.

I have ordered three from their site without any issues using Groupon. However, it has been 15 days now and my orders are still showing as "Processing". I need them as gifts in December 9th. I hope I will receive them by then. This is the first time I use Groupon. If Eco Toys is a scam, does Groupon refund us?

Not only have I not received mine but the same day I paid for shipping my credit card number was used to make a large purchase at a Walmart in another state. I am sorry to say that I think this is a scam :-( Check your credit card accounts ASAP to make sure you haven't had the same security breech. I have contacted Groupon about it. Good luck everyone!

I am super suspicious of this toy/tea company. Seems we've all been had and should monitor our credit card activity very carefully. I'm kicking myself for going ahead with the transaction when I was asked to provide my date of birth. Duh!! Why on earth would anyone need that for shipping? People, Groupon should do their research when dealing with companies, but apparently they don't. I've learned my lesson to stay away from Groupon offers from unknown companies.

It says right on the website it takes 1 - 3 weeks for delivery. I ordered mine on 11/15/11 and I do not expect to recieve it until the first week of December. I had no problems with the initial order. I just did what the instructions said.

Lame web site
only one toy in the catalog
no one has ever see one except the pics they supply
no response to e-mails
no phone #
credit info ripped off
What else do you need to know to call it a scam?
This is not the first time Groupon has aided and abetted scamers. They owe all of us refunds.

PS the cops in Richmond Hill, Ont, need to take these sleezy buggers down!

I can see quite a few hopefuls in the forum. I ordered on November 2nd, live in the same area where the company is and still haven't received my order. The emails I sent have not been responded yet.

Hello All! Be prepared to dispute the transactions within 30 days and contact Groupon for refund. The following is the email i sent to Groupon yesterday to ask for refund. I'll let you know what i get back from them. Attached for your reference:

__________
Title: Scam! Eco-Educational-Toys!

Dear Groupon,

I’m sorry to suspect that the online deal you introduced to thousands of customers in North American, Eco-Educational-Toys, is a SCAM!

I bought 3 coupons for Eco-Educational-Toys from Groupon on Oct 30, 2011. I ordered 3 Eco Educational Toys at Groupon suggested website ( http://ecoeducationaltoys.com/ ) on 11/06/2011. But i did not receive my 3 toys until 11/29/2011 which is more than 3 weeks later. They promised to deliver within 1~3 weeks on their website. Under my account in the ecoeducationaltoys.com website, the status of all 3 toys were updated as "Delivered" on 11/17/2011, but i received none of them. I'v checked my local post office, no delivering records at all. I'v kept sending them emails daily through their website for several days, no response at all! They did not provide any phone numbers even email address for their customers to reach them and they do not provide tracking for shipping.

I spent lot of time to do the home work. I found the same company (Eco Educational Toys) has two different websites: " http://ecoeducationaltoys.com/" ; ; and " http://solar-toys.net/" ; ;. I am assure they are from the same company because the two websites are nearly the same except different colors and different user account databases. I even filled out the contact us form in the second website and hope they could respond to me, but apparently no response at all too!

The transactions on my credit card statement is from “Teas Online Inc.”. Pretty strange company!

Then I found several posts online said that they never deliver toys and that they raised the original price:

http://www.calgarydealsblog.com/2011/10/eco-e...

http://www.topix.com/forum/com/groupon/TI5G1N...

http://www.groupon.com/groupon_says/groupon-s...

All of above suspicious facts drove me to the conclusion that “Eco-Educational-Toys is a scam!”. They doubled the original price, the photo of the toys is misleadingly big, they do not provide phone number and email address, only one product in their company, a webpage specifically made for one session of Groupon customers, short/close expiration date in Groupon for fast transaction, a new webpage for another session of customers, never response to customers except for issues of collecting money, a company registered under other name and product (maybe illegal), lots of blank links on both website...

Because i did not receive their product within 3 weeks and did not get any response from Eco-Educational-Toys, i’m applying to dispute their transactions through my credit card company. Please refund my Groupon purchase as well. Great thanks for your consideration and waiting for your reply!

Regards,

Ying
