Similiar story and I have wasted hours on the phone. Groupon insisted they'd had no problems with this company and assured me my gift was on the way. Then they said they'd send me a 'missing' form as I have a despatch number. I am ripping and I am just glad that I only paid for one. I hope someone gets to the bottom of this.

Hi there, like most of you I ordered 2 magic wine bottle holders just after Xmas and have also received nothing despite emailing them. Not sure where to go with this one and I'm fuming. Who is ultimately responsible if grape gifts is a bogus company?? I'd say Groupon as the items were originally advertised through them. Will definately contacting Trading Standards on this one. If anyone has any luck please let us all know.

I worked as a home party planner for Barry and Wine at Home, guy is a disgrace, taking payment very quickly and never sending goods, he wants shooting. Hopeful that you get your refunds through Groupon as from bitter experience you get any out of Barry!

Well, I've done some digging. Seems mr Barry Rollins was something to do with a company called Wine At Home before this. That company was dissolved. He racked up loads of debt there too. Seems we've got a con artist here...
His partner Gavin Butterworth was featured on BBC tv promoting so that must have got him a shed load of cash. Google them and you'll see complaints there too about people not getting responses etc and that's the fine wine market!
funny too that a pic of said man was posted as being Peter Anderson and that now if you look at that page it doesn't display any more.... Curious.
I feel Watchdog coming on? Anyone feel like telling the story?
I think he's got it coming....

I too was conned by Barry Rollins Wine at Home. The guy is a professional at giving false promises and conning people and business' out of money.

The guy clearly gets pleasure out of ripping people off. Makes me sick.

I wish I'd found this site before I ordered a magic chain bottle holder in Jan, as a Valentine's gift, from Grape Gifts via Groupon, and then paid additional postage charge via Nochex. I will definitely be more vigilant before ordering from any of the Deal-type sites in future. I am going to contact Trading Standards. And possibly Watchdog too, although I don't relish broadcasting my gullibility to the nation, there are plenty of tempting deals/cons out there to be exposed.

Has anyone received their chaon bottle holder yet? I'm still waiting and like everyone else have contacted everywhere possible! The money from Nochex has also been taken....

Hi Lor1983 - as mentioned in the previous posts it has been found that this company effectively doesn't exist (as investigated by my councils trading standards people)
Raise a case with Nochex to get the delivery back from them and then demand a full refund via groupon.
Mentioning websites such as this one might speed up the process

Hello all,

Right lets get down to business, I am aware of Gavin Butterworth (not the most trustworthy of people).

Here is a little scoop.

Follow the link to or enter into the address bar which his sister Sonia reportedly operates, and you'll see that he allegedly has 15 years experience in Business Development.

The brother and sister double act seem to go from one scheme to another, highlighting the lack of talent that they possess in any given field.

I hope that this helps in building a case for watchdog.

No surprise also that the Bolshevic Broadcasting Corporation aired Gavin Butterworth pretending to know what he was talking about.

He has now turned his not considerable talents to acting as extra, acting as a Businessman in a hurry, in a Road Safety Television Advertisement on ITV. No doubt he is a hurry to get away from his debtors.

Best of luck in getting back the monies owed to all of you.

Same story, Ordered in Dec '11, numerous emails that all have generated automated responses, unable to contact company in any other way and would advise a wide berth of GrapeGifts in the future.

I have today been told by Groupon that Grapegifts 'let them and me down' and they will return my money and my p&p to my account. This after many emails to both Grapegifts (no reply from them other than the usual automatic response)and Groupon. Keep on at Groupon they SHOULD refund you.
