I bought an Olds Alero back in '04. It had about 12,000 miles on it when I bought it and now has over 120,000. In the almost 7 years I have owned the car, it has been nothing but a gem! I have done NO work on it (besides routine maintenance). It is only recently that the transmission is starting to malfunction, but like I said, it has over 120 THOUSAND miles on it! Thank you general motors for building me such a cherry!

I bought my '04 Alero used in 2005. It only had 33k miles and ran like a beauty! After a couple of years it has had some silly things go wrong with it:
back windows don't go down (or won't stay up)
windshield wiper motor on drivers side blew (thank God for Rain-X)
Stereo/Clock doesn't always shut off when door is opened (sometimes have to restart the car and try again!)
Blinker will suddenly stop working (but when I turn the steering wheel it sometimes will start blinking again)
CD player doesn't eject CD's fully anymore, need to use your fingertips to manually pull the CD out the rest of the way.

Like I said, silly things and then routine things like brakes, oil changes, etc. The rotors were rebuilt and now I need new ones, shocks, what not.

Overall, I love my car. My first care was an 86 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and it was in MINT condition. Bought it for $600, it was a company used vehicle and had barely been used. Miss that car so much! I then bought a dodge and HATED IT!!!! I was determined to go back to Oldsmobile and am really upset GM did away with Oldsmobile! I plan on keeping my Alero as long as it still wants me!

Although I do want to do some custom work to it, make it "my own". Anyone have any places that have good deals on custom parts for Alero's?
