Yeah, I have money to burn. What, are they nuts? Who has money to piss away on fireworks?

As long as you don't watch then don't worry about donating, but if you watch, you should donate.

Also, they should put canisters out at the fairgrounds so people can donate right there. 50,000 people at $1 per head would be very nice start.

Putting donation canisters at the fairgrounds is like asking the city residents to leave their wallets on the streets every city criminal will try to make a quick score of cash by raiding those , if York cant afford to have a fireworks celebration then they shouldnt have one . There will be plenty of entertainment on the 4th York city has a shooting practically every night so those who love to hear loud noises will love the sound of the gunfire of a drug deal gone bad or a fight over a neighborhood skank you can also throw in some stupid jerk who injures him or herself with some sort of illegal fireworks now thats entertainment throw in booze too for those long hot summer nights what a mix booze broads and bangs York style .

Here's my problem. We are in the worst recession, bordering on depression, since the 30's. Just today it was revealed that more people lost their jobs in June. There is no end in sight. Does it really make sense to burn $70,000 to buy Chinese fireworks for a few moments of light and boom?

Give the $70,000 for fireworks to people who really need it. Let's start with the unemployed.. and the list is only starting. Why pay so much money for something that is going to end up burning when you can give this money to people who really need.

I believe the unemployed are getting 102 weeks worth of payoff from the Democrats in Congress and the President who combine could not create a private sector job if their life depended on it.
