Your stock broker will have ALL those answers if you baought it on line with ameritrade or one of the other they will adjust your account to show you new stock when it is final.

how much in us dollars is a share worth in the buyout

Is this a cash buyout acquisition (the Gallaher shareholders will get cash) or an acquisition in which there will be a share switch (to JT). It's amazing how little info there is on this. I've searched all over for info and have contacted Gallaher and so far haven't received a reply. I asked what was the impact to Gallaher shareholders and whether we had to do anything.

I have looked all over the internet to try to find something about the buyout and what Gallaher shareholders will have to do, but to no avail. My shares are held by the Bank of New York, and they don't even know what's happening. When will we get some info on our shares.

Just received this from JT:

Japan Tobacco paid ordinary shareholders on 1st May 2007, and, as such, The Bank of New York ("BONY") has received the £45.60 applicable per ADS.

BONY has converted the UK sterling consideration into US dollars, and I can confirm that the US dollar consideration per ADS is $90.74856.

BONY will be forwarding this consideration to ADS holders. If you own the ADSs in certificated form, then BONY will be in contact regarding the logistics for arranging payment. If you own the shares via a bank or broker, then please contact this institution to discuss your requirements. If you own the ADSs electronically, then BONY will be forwarding the money in the week commencing 7th May 2007.

I hold a substantial number of Gallaher ADS shares (actual certificates) and am really upset about the lack of information from Bank of New York (and everyone else) concerning the method of settlement. I tried to send my certificates in ahead of time to improve the cash flow situation, but I was told I had to wait until I got the transmittal package. From the above message that originated from Julie Brown it sounds like BONY received all of the payment funds on May 1. I was told I had to wait for instructions from BONY. I did not receive them until today May 14. I did rush my stock to the post office today. But I imagine I won't see a check until at least a week from now, probably even more. So BONY profits from a huge amount of interest in the interim and I will probably wind up losing about a month's worth of interest. Do all of you see it the same way? Any ideas about who to complain to?
