When they are no longer associated with CNN or Time magazine, I will feel better about doing business with them.

Time Warner Cable has very few HD channels compared to others.

They keep raising prices.

Their customer services is horrible.

I'd be glad to see them go.

Gotta love the free market. Little Wadsworth Ohio has their own cable company, and bundle it with other city services at half the cost of Time Warner Cable, providing better service and better programing, more for your buck! I wonder why big city Akron can't or ( won't) do the same for their city residents? Let's see, do you think big liberal anti business political back scratching comes in to play? Follow the money!

Time Warner Cable is one of the biggest scams on the planet.

The stock prices are manipulated by sales that are not long term. The word "CHURN" should be used here.

Time Warner is a company to avoid not only in the world of the stock market, but also in choosing services for your home.

AND SOON, even more of a choke hold on society with DIGITAL TV! YEAH! now my picture can freeze up and get all abstract on me.

Funny how TV was once a free medium that advertisers used to pay for. NOW WE BOTH PAY.

That seems to work out very nice for the cable companies.

Time Warner is not going anywhere. They will still provide the same substandard services for high prices and continue to have poor customer service. In the last two years, I have returned six faulty DVR boxes. Most of the time I called the customer service line and scheduled a several hour block of time (that on multiple occasions the repair technician did not arrive for). Last time, I talked to a representative and said I don't have time to wait around for someone who may or may not show. Then I am told that I can take my defective unit to my local office and exchange it for a "functioning" box. Of course, they were out of the boxes when I arrived, which I would have know if I were allowed to call and check before driving over and waiting in line for 15 minutes. They all but laugh at you on the phone if you ask to be connected to a local office, as apparently those at the office are not trained for customer service. I'm so glad AT&T is in the area.
Okay, I'm done with my much needed Time Warner vent.

Maybe their new owner will be able to provide HD boxes without a 6 to 8 week wait...

Im a technician at time warner cable and i have to admit, the customers get the short end of the stick... but at the same time, we get shafted as well (the techs working HARD to support our families). We switched to 2 hour time frames, which im sure most of you know because ive probably been to almost all of your houses, and in those two hours we get 2, 3, and some times even 4 jobs. that is supposed to include 15 minutes of drive time and 45 minutes to actually do the job. thats one hour total per job, more often than not we get no lunch because we have too much work. i recently got in trouble for speeding and was "scolded" at work for getting the ticket in my work vehicle, had to pay the fine and extra money on my insurance. I get paid WELL under poverty level and have a semi-dangerous job. When my son was born I couldnt be there or have time off because they would not let me take FMLA since i wasnt there for a full year and we have to get 2 weeks notice for vacation or personal time. We cant even make a phone call to our dispatchers to say we're running behind, or need to make changes on the account, we have to use text messaging! Our equipment rarely works, video on demand has been shakey for over a year and we have to explain to the irate customers why its not our fault (speaking about the techs) and theres nothing we can do at your house to fix it. and to top it off the corporate mess of sell sell sell and getting penalized for not doing so. so now that im done venting ill say I CANT WAIT til time warner is gone!!! i completely understand your frustration as customers but PLEASE realize that its usually not the technicians fault we are late or frustrated when we show up.

I really appreciate the insight into your world.
I definitely don't fault you at all. All the craziness shady business starts at the top. Unfortunately since you interact with the customers you have to endure all the negative feedback.

As a former TWC clone I can only tell you that if you think ENRON was a scam, OH BABY!

If you own TWC stock, you can do one of two things....sell it now and lose some money OR sell it later and lose some money.

by the way, did I mention you will lose money.

And to the TWC TECH guy, c'mon man, your job is not that hard (dangerous--YES, esp if you work in the hood). BUT HARD? buddy, if you think that job is hard you are in for a real surprise.

TWC is not a difficult place to work. I did it for a long time, working only about 3 to 4 hours a day sometimes only 3 or 4 days a week. Made good money. Easy Money. Well above poverty.

Tech guy, go work for one of the sub contractors or get a sales job and do your own installs and make twice the money. Yes, it is that simple.

here in my southeast ohio area just outside ironton,we have no access to any good cable, very few channels compaired to ironton no highspeed internet of any kind,as we our on what they call the old 2gig network, ironton im told is on a 5gig network.we actually pay more for our cable out here then they do go figure..(sad)they say we are such a small network thats its not an good investment to upgrade us..maybe thats why you see so many sat dishes out here..anyways it wouldnt bother us to see them crash and burn..maybe then so decent company would take us over and we would become valued comstomers to them instead..its really sad because most of us live off a main highway..
