Six Flags Shuts Ride After Ky. Accident

Six Flags and Cedar Fair shut down eight more thrill rides around North America on Friday after a teenage girl's feet were sliced off during a ride in Kentucky.

She did not die. If it's such a bad park why are you going anyways?

To Zachary Hott, that is a very safe park and again the girl didnt die. Also if you do not like the park then dont go!!!

The girl had both her legs sliced off! Maybe CMM and Unknown think that's an acceptable risk for standing in line for an hour and a half for 8 seconds of thrill but something is very wrong! Everytime I went to Six Flags Over Georgia, Acrophobia was broken for atleast part of the visit. Something is not right with a ride that they are always having to shut down. Now we know why park officials were so quick to pull the plug! Why does a young girl have to suffer for the rest of her life because park officials wouldn't shut down a ride that they knew had problems?

ok people I have never been able to ride Acrafobia or Deja Vu because everytime I go they are both closed down. My friend went on Acrafobia and was stuck up at the top for 2 hours. Hello people!!!! i love Six Flags and roller coasters, but that is rediculous. What if it rains or storms, and forget about having to go to the bathroom you are 157 ft up in the air just hanging there! Oh and Zach, learn how to spell, write, communicate, and relay facts. correctly she did not die!

Norcross, you also need to learn how to spell!! I have noticed rides in Six Flags over Ga. shut down often (and I don't go nearly enough). It's sad and it's unacceptable what happened to this girl, OMG could you imagine if it was you!! You have to understand that all rides have risks but in no way should "slicing feet" or "bumping your head and needing 6+ stitches" should be acceptable AT ALL. Come on - they have disclosures saying DO NOT RIDE if you have heart conditions, are pregnant, etc. It doesn't say DO NOT RIDE if you want an injury to the head, slice your feet or whatever it maybe. Plain and simple it's not right!

Any ride can be dangerous.
So I think the real question you're trying to ask is "Why do they build any ride?"

i have riddden this ride numerous times when it was called the hellavator.
i rode it recently. this is creepy.

Yeah, I've rode it hundreds of times, the park is very nice here and just because a freak accident happened it shouldn't affect other people.

The whole story goes that a steel cable wrapped around the girls feet, severed them ABOVE THE ANKLES, did that cause people wont get the story straight, she came down, didnt feel anything wrong, she was rushed to University of Louisville where she was transported to Vanderbilt research center, shes in stable condition, the ride and rides from Cedar Entertainment that were made by the swiss company Intamin, were shut down around the country. She didnt die, and everyone is right, why do they make any ride, thier all dangerous and everyone should know that by now. In other news, the ride hasnt been inspected since 2004. 3 years of no inspection, and thats expected to happen... i grew up in louisville riding the rides in that park for years, its a great park and i consider it, no toher rides have had many problems really, hellavator or "superman" has been shut down lots of times, once cause a car got stuck at the top of the ride. You dont know me, im annonymous, and i dont care if you dont like hearin this, but it gives clarification about the subject, it happened last month... LEAVE IT BE!!!!

I never go to Six Flags in Ga anymore. It's totally Ghetto now plus you'll get your head beaten in in the parking lot. They have a bunch of kids running that place; what do you expect?
