I've always told my wife that I had a fear of these thrill rides, and now I know why. I had heard a cable snapped and took off the girl's feet. Jeez, what would be more frightening than this? Perhaps the next ride will be some form of bucket type carrier that at the end will deposit the patrons into a tank full of great white sharks and venomous sea snakes, and they have to swim out of the tank. Maybe on Disney's Pirate of the Carribean, the Pirates will hack people to bits, cool!
You have quite an imagination. How do you get in any automobile or use anything with a blade, millons have been hurt by these. This was a very unfortunate ACCIDENT that there will be additional safety checks for in the future. Remember never take a shower if it is lightening!

Inspection ??? If you wanna call a walk around the ride an inspection so be it. And I think the manufacturer of the equipment will get most of the blame, but the park attendants will also be involved.
Now i don't know how consistent they are with it but
where i live, inspections are a must.. they test thier rides first before they let any one on.

All i can say is they better do something or they will be shut down permenant and that means NO BUSINESS.

I have rode the Drop Zone Stunt Tower at Kings Dominion and loved it. 90 percent is the riders fault, but this time I think it was mechanical problems. It's sad that it occurred.
I love roller coasters. I think that it happened it's over. It's not like it happens every day, week, month, even year. Well it might happen twice in one year.
Good Luck recovering

This is so tragic, I have rode this ride before and it was really scary but I still rode it and after hearing this I think that all rides by the name of Superman Tower of Power should be examine and put more safe equipment in the ride so it would be safer, beacause there is a 50/50 chance that you will get off the way you got on, or something similar to this teenage girls accident. This probably affected her life and she may not be able to walk again or play any kind of sports because of this. This ride affected her life all because she wanted to have fun and the ride wasnt safe enough. Im not saying shut down all the rides but you should take this tragic moment into considertion and check all rides and have safer equipment in them. This teenager's family could have lost her, but they didnt. I pray for her family and her and hope that her life gets better as she lives it. So people you should remember this and take this into consideration.

I can't emphacize enough how bad I feel for her...yet now she has to be strong and remain as optimistic as she can...as for the ride, I happen to know how these rides are designed and inspected...the problem, in my opinion, isn't the ride's design, itself, but the fact that I've seen so many clueless ride oporators who don't know anything about the anatomy of the ride or it's structure...these thrillers are designed by top engineers and rarely malfunction to a degree as serious and as tragic as this...while you statistically have a MUCH higher chance of being killed on the way to the park itself, I still hesitate to go on these things. I figure 'I probably won't get hurt, but in the extremely un-likely event that I do, it'll be BAD."...I said a prayer for her and I hope with today's technology, that she will one day be able to walk again.

You know what i feel really bad for this little girl. it really really sucks. But everyone should know that when you go to an amusement park such as six flags you are taking a risk. and if you don’t think that you are taking a risk then you are DUMB!!!!! I have a friend who’s dad helped design some of the rides in all the six flags (NOT THIS ONE)and do you think that he said oh i hope that it cuts someone’s legs off??? NO!!! And yes all these rides go through several inspections throughout the year. for example one to two hours before the parks even open they do several test runs on the rides. i just went to the six flags in LA Cali. and they did not even open the Xtreme ride for several hours after the park was open because it was not running properly. and guess what as soon as it was open people were running towards the ride and i mean running. These people did not even think hey well just a min ago this ride was broken. No they wanted to ride and have fun. another example i was in line next to get on the superman in LA Cali when the ride was shut down " due to technical difficulties" so i asked one of my friends (who worked at the park) hey what happened?? she said that the ride did not stop in time with its regular breaks so we had to use the emergence breaks to stop the ride. and guess what as soon as that ride was back up and running i was the first one on it. and i asked my self after that was that a dumb choice that i made?? heck YES!!!! but i still did it.

But by all means i really feel bad for this girl and my prayers go out to her and her family but like i said when you step into a park such as six flags you are taking a risk..... and I am going again to six flags this Friday wahoooooo!!!!

Can't happen again. If it cut her feet OFF, then she won't measure for the sign that says "you musy be this tall to ride this". What an entirely wicked thing to happen. Will save money on shoes, socks and foot deodorant!
