Of course a news story will have a bias to one side. The writer or reporter is going an encounter from their eyes or what they know. There is obviously more to the story that has not yet been shared. Claimed controlled substance, rowdy teen, law suit, big brother, or negligence is a little early in the story. Sometimes accidents happen. It is good that they did take precautions at other parts until they find out all the facts. No one has the all the facts yet so how can anyone make a judgment.

you people making the foot and leg comments are rude inconsiderate a$$holes! This is a 13 year old girl we are talking about who has to now live the rest of her life probably never being able to walk again. Have a little sensitivity. Think if it was your kid.

Why would I blame the parents. It was a freak accident. So many so quick to blame. I'm sure they are going through hell right now themselves. To each thier own, I just would not personally put my own children on rides like that. Scares me to death. Just my opinion. |
Thank you... I cant get over the lack of compassion over the foot remarks. If it was their own child.. I'm sure they would NOT be finding the humor. |

This article may not mention that a cable broke loose, but just about every other article about this accident does. Getting your news from more than one source is always a good idea...especially when your only source is the Morning Call.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/06/21/six.flags.ac... http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/... http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/A/AMUSEM... These stories give more information about the cable. It snapped, and wrapped around her feet as the car fell. |
You know what, I THOUGHT THE SAME THING... What a pitty if they lost money, a person lost there feet !!!!! WTF !!! |
Unless I'm blind, I am not seeing where a Dorney parent made any comment....anybody else??
I think it's sad that you would even have to say this to people...people have absolutely no compassion for others...I guess it's not surprising, after all, look what we read in the paper every day.... |
They are talking about Dorney's PARENT company Cedar point!

sorry Cedar Fair

Other news sources. Try the AP wire. Based on your original comment, you did do so well in critical thinking in college either. |

A cord wrapped around the 16-year-old's feet and severed them at her ankles while she was on the "Superman Tower of Power," a police dispatcher said. The girl was taken to a local hospital.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/06/21/six.flags.ac... Thats from CNN I thought the girl was 13???? So what news are we supposed to belive here. Everyone has a different version. |

I guess.. a Mea Culpa is in order... I should have know that the Morning Fall would f'up any info that they touched. We have one of the worst newspapers in the Nation ( Right along side the rag know as the Express Times)
And as a BTW... I have seen groups of teenagers at Dorney, on the rides and in lines, that where totaly out of control. They were acting more like animals than humans. |
I feel sorry for that girl. Your supposed to go to an amusement park to have and have a great time. You aren't supposed to end up getting your feet severed when you should be having fun. I've been on the Dominator and superman almost a hundred times each. It must really be bad for her.

wtf they shoud have shut down the park. so they lose some $. They have the whole year to make 1 billion dollars. A girl lost her feat. She'll never get her feet back.
This girl was 1 person in a trillion that rode that ride. She's wondering right now why me. |
First, the cable snapped and no fault was placed on the park or anyone really, it was a freak accident. Second, if anyone's concerned I've been following this story and the girl's right foot was reattached, although the left foot was too badly damaged. She was released from the hospital two days ago.
