The accident didn't appear to slow business. A stream of cars and foot traffic poured into the Louisville amusement park on a warm, breezy summer day.

SO SAD, THAT THE EDITOR HAD TO INCLUDE THIS LINE......... today's journalism is NOT VERY GOOD..........

I'm sure the stream of cars and foot traffic did not know about this tragic accident.
Lets see what a day or two makes.
My thoughts and prayers to this young girl.
So sad.

What's wrong with that?

The day that we expect news organizations to "spare us" news because it might affect us too much is the day Big Brother has taken over. Come to think of it, that day is just about here.

the preliminary reports said that witnesses stated that the girl was being defiant and rough-housing. Perhaps she wasn't strapped in properly or removed her harness at some point. Either way, it's very sad, but I am glad that the other parks have reacted to ensure everyone's safety.

I agree, there wasn't much consideration given to the term "foot traffic" !!

One teenager… probably high on some controlled substance was acting up… now not only has she paid a heavy price for her stupidity but she has spoiled many family vacations of those who come to the parks with the intent of riding some of the best rides built.

The family will most likely higher some scum bag in a three piece suit and settle for millions of dollars for her “grievous injuries” suffered at the hands of a “negligent amusement operator”. At no time will this poor unfortunate “victim” be called out for contributing to her own injuries… except here !!!

Well lets see, millions have safetly rode this ride, so what was this girl doing that she was the only one out of millions to be injured.

Ok..this was a very misleading headline. I expected to open this story and read about some parent of a child who went to Dorney and was complaining because Dorney didn't shut down its rides.

It won't make any diffrence at all. Most intelligent people realize that this accident was the exception, not the rule.
For those folks that this makes a diffrence to, I would suggest you compare the percentages of injuries on the highways, compared to amusment park rides. I would assume you'll never get in a car again.

By the way Carla, I'm surprised you didn't blame this girl's parents.

Do you think you know something? Or are you just making stupid, inflamatory remarks?

so you Walter, and you Ohman, think that this girl caused her injury? you honestly think in a sane and sound mind that she broke a cable off of the ride so that her feet get cut off? you two need a reality check, big time!

Well let's see....A cable broke loose and there was an accident. So do you suppose this thirteen year old reached out and snapped a steel cable? That's one hell of a rowdy kid!!!

Let me rephrase your question.... Millions of people safely rode in zepplins before the Hindenberg disaster. I wonder what those folks in the Hindenberg where doing that cause them to get killed?

"Where was the Dorney parent's reaction? Did I miss it in the article?"

Nope.....the title should have read "Dorney parent COMPANY reacts after accident"

And why mention Dorney in the headline? All it will do is get people in this area nervous about going to a park that doesn't even have this ride.

It's amazing how everyone assumes it's the girl's fault...do a little research before you judge...you all have the internet here...do a google search and you will find out that a cable on the ride snapped and severed her legs. It was not the girl's fault at all ....idiots! Who could have known a cable would snap? huh?
