50 dollars to any amusement park is ridiculous. I'll go hit 40 in my piece of crap moped that I drive due to gas prices right off of a GD CLIFF - HEAD FIRST INTO A LAKE FOR THE PRICE OF MY WALKING EVERYWHERE on the back of my chihuahua. YEAH! WHAT A RUSH TO QUOTE THE OLE' SKOOL LEGION OF DOOM!

I think we may see more incentives like this for summer tourism. Businesses need to do something to get people to come to them. Hey, anything helps.

Gee thanks cedar fair with your 100 million in online sales alone. A savings of 40 dollars to take me and my family that would not even give me half a tank of gas. Cost me about 275 to get down there and then I need food and a place to stay when I am there. I dont think so. Not really a whole lot of incentive when you look at the big picture. FORTY DOLLAR SAVINGS.........BIG DEAL!!!!!

Burnips, MI to Sandusky, OH is 250 miles, 500 round trip. If you have a decent car that gets at least 25mpg, at $4 a gallon it would cost you $80. Even if you drove a gas guzzler that got 15mpg it would cost $133. I don’t know where you get $275 for gas from. Also food and a place to stay is a regular part of a trip to CP. Nothing changed there. Food and lodging has never been free. CP is just trying to get people who would want to go but won’t because of the high price of gas. They are not trying to get people who would have never gone in the first place to go.

It sounds like a fair deal. $40 isn't huge, but it would cover the increase in gas prices pretty well to balance things out. Its not a bad idea.

Cedar Point is in the business to make money, not let people in for free. Be happy they're giving you a deal. It's only so they can make a buck on food and merchandise. Which, btw, is their right. If you don't like the prices, you can always get investors, property, licensing, insurance etc. and build your own amusement park.

Its good what Cedar Point is trying to do but lets look at the whole picture. With all this layoff and companies going to another country and with the housing industry slowing down and with gas prices going up like a volcano, who has the next money to go their. Now we have to concentrate on saving money because with all this changes. Who knows where we might end in the future. Many people are losing their jobs because they don't have money for gas to travel to work. If you do travel to work its just money to pay for the gas. $80.00 for my gas tank. Two per week $160.00. Look at the ariline industry. Now they want to charge money for luggages and later on they will find something to charge us with. I recommend to start saving money now and lets wait whats in the future.

A better deal...buy a season pass to Michigan's Adventure, which is good at the other amusement parks, too. If you're reading the WOOD site, you're close enough to go for the day without paying to stay overnight. Pack food to eat at the car, and you won't have to pay the ridiculous prices inside the park. If you go twice a month, summer fun doesn't get any less expensive (considering those entertainments you actually pay for). Go more often and it's downright cheap. Just compare the cost per hour to some of your other favorites...cheaper than a movie, cheaper than a concert, cheaper than a dune ride. Go to Michigan's Adventure enough, and it might even figure out cheaper than smores over the campfire wood you pay for!
